Down with the Sickness

Sounds like a great idea, but you would only be able to see your guy in the journal.

And some diseases should not even have symptoms, as there are diseases in the real world where you dont actually feel the affect for another 5 years or dont feel, or get anything physically abnormal ever.

At ABove I never did that, just kill em and cure the disease. ANyways if you block them but the matter still gts on your shield and you touch your shield then you could still get it.

As well you should be able to get Prions from zombies.

I like the idea.
Will also help with beggars.
Make them sick a bit and they will automatically look more beggarish instead of just people who like to dress more casually than others.

well let′s for ease sake assume your character isn′t stupid to do that...I still think it′s to much to ask to make diseases a little more easier to avoid.

I only ever got disease from a few things. And to say you are running from zombies and vampires only is silly then.

The rats can give you diseases, so can wolves I believe. The disease are easily avoidable.

So your character is stupid for running away from them.

the frustrating amount of reloads inside a vampire nest says otherwise, again I′m not asking for diseases to be easily avoided every time, but if I block and attack logical I put a solid object between my character body and what ever nasty bite/scratch/ weapon attack (yeah...how the f word can you get vampire from there weapons?)

Its on their weapons, its airborne, like when they breathe, when you hit them with a weapon their blood gets on you. PLus its magical disease to an extent.

And I dont see why getting a disease is such a big deal. Cure it its not really that expensive, or buy the spell. Its not really expensive either.

and I find adding blocking disease attacks to the game to be a equal little deal X3

with the huge difference it gives me that little amount of freedom to play the character the way I want...not what the game forces me to need.

How about a disease that causes chronic flatulence... How would that effect your chances with the barmaid?

Don't forget to add "+10 to speed" to that disease. ;)

I dotn know what you mean about blocking diseases equal a little. SO please try to rephrase.

And the game si not forcing you, that si a consequence of you actions. Technically the game should not force you to fight enemies, so ther are no enemies, you should automaticlly get the reward adn not have to quests. Thats ridiculos, you get a disease if you fight a vampire, you dont want it but it happens. How is that dumb?

I don′t mind getting the disease, if it is the consequence of a mistake, like missing to block a attack, but it kinda feels broken they have this unstoppable disease I just have to bluntly accept getting and run of and cure later.

I′m just asking for a fair way of protecting myself that′s not to illogical.

Its not unstoppable and there is a fair way to protect your self, dont expose yourself to it.

If i travel to a poorer country to see sights, and I drink there sketchy water I just might get a disease. Thats hwo it happens. Because this is a game where you dont drink vampire infected water, that is how they transmit there disease to you in game.

well there we come back to not being able to play the character I want, what if I want to play a pure melee fighter? Should I really be punished right at the start of the game, for the very core of choosing how I play the game?

Your not punished for being a pure melee. You are not punished. If you walk up to the vampire and battle you will get a disease. Thats what happens. How are you punished, by that logic anyone who is not an Argonian is punished because they have a higher chance of getting a disease. Therefore every one should have all the same abilities and all maxed out stats so no one gets offended. Thats really, really silly.

of course I am, compared to a mage or a archer, who both can kill and stay out of the disease, so why not give melee fighter the block protection to even the play field?

"The attributes... they're gone, aren't they?"
"We don't know that sire. The messenger only said they were being overhauled."
"No, they're gone. I know it."

I loved the Corprus storyline in Morrowind, but I wished I could see the physical effects on my character. It's a great idea - though I'm not sure how workable it would be.

I would say the thought (given the title of your thread) is quite Disturb-ing :)

Wasn't the Nerevarine given Divine protection from the negative affects of Corprus?

For Astral Vapors, how would that be visible/audible? Would you just breathe sort of raspy, maybe you leave a little temporary trail of fog behind you?
