Synopsis-
Dandowin was a simple Nord taken from his home in childhood with no memories save working in the Imperial glass mines as a child. Released by the Emperor for reasons unknown and plagued by memories and visions from the Daedra Prince Azura, he found himself the reluctant hero of Vvardenfell and Champion to the Lady of Dusk and Dawn.
Having left far more friends and foes underground than above ground, he decided to leave the mainland after losing his first and only love, and set out to return to the frosty cold lands of Solsthiem. But fate was far less kind than fortune, and again, he found himself in the throes and machinations of those in need.
With a weary heart and equally weary body he unrolled the paper in his pocket, offering a hunting experience in the icy lands of Lokken. But all was not well within, and in true Dandowin fashion he found himself in the middle of a family mystery of betrayal, dark magics, exile, and death. But he prevailed, and for his troubles earned the love of the most beautiful woman in all of Lokken, the Princess Laurenna. With her came lands, family, and of course responsibilities. He soon found himself at a new door in life, the door of fatherhood.
Yet the life of violence may close one door and open many others, especially those carried on the will of revenge. With a new life, and a new wife, as he was fond of telling his wonderful orphaned niece Solveig, "What can a simple hero do?"
The events in The Heir to the Lokken Kingdom take place shortly after the fall of Dagoth Ur, and the death of Almalexia. There are notable references to the events spoken in the streets in the game Oblivion, as well as fleshed out instances of why you come across certain personalities in Oblivion that were directly related to Morrowind. For poor Dandowin, there is only one thing he wants...peace, love, and family."
His life begs a question to many...What would you do, and how far would you go, just to keep the loves of your life safe?"
The entire novel is dedicated to the most wonderful Emma, for her characters indeed stay with you long after you leave the keyboard. Also with great respect to the late Grumpy, for his characters Ingred Rems and the staff of the Dome Home, who like Laurenna, leave lasting imaginative places in one's heart.
Also to my Mrs., who without her help, eyes, and love I wouldn't have been able to complete the novel at all.
With of course, very appreciated nods to Neoptolemus for the character of Luthien Morvayn, and for Korana for her wonderful Solstheim Castle mod and staff. Also to all modders who inspire and leave us wanting to return to Morrowind.
