Now I have been looking for some information for some time now. I have heard rumors about online multiplayer/co-op in the new Elder Scrolls. Is this true?

I think the general line for this in the 'Bethesda do not specialise in Multiplayer games and the Elderscrolls are not multiplayer games' so I doubt very much that it will be anything more than a single player game for ESV

I think they will make a totally new game, and then continue on TESV later.

I'm not aware of any rumors that the next Elderscrolls will have multiplayer, however there are rumors that Bethesda's sister company, Zenimax Online Studios, is working on an Elder Scrolls MMORPG.
