Basic Problems

Post » Fri Feb 18, 2011 8:39 pm

Greetings forum peoples,

I have been playing Oblivion for a few years now and I have recently started fooling around with the construction kit to give myself custom made/enchanted items and such. However, now I wish to edit items that are already in-game and I can't seem to figure out how to do that.

I acquired the crusader items I.E. Boots of the Crusader, Mace of the Crusader, etc...and I have placed them on the floor on my modded Chorrol player owned house. I wish to go to them via the world viewer pane and just right-click edit them. My problem is that they aren't showing up. I can't see them. How do I place the items in my world and access them in the construction set? I also can't seem to find their construction set ID tag/item names in the armor or weapons tab. I have many mods being used - perhaps I don't know which file to make as my active file?

Any and all help is greatly appreciated. I anxiously await a reply!

Changes made to the world by your character will never show up in the CS. Saves are an entirely separate entity. (not like in morrowind, where you could just change the extension, and then load 'em into the CS.....)

You might want to do the CS Basics class at TES Alliance. It's not too long, and will help you defeat the unintuitiveness of the CS. :)

Well does anyone know how to find the Crusader items in the kit then? I cannot find them and I know I could simply solve my issue by adding them to the game via another quick item mod like that.

I assume you would find those under Items > Armor and Items > Weapons when you have the KotN plugin loaded into the CS. However, unless you are wanting to directly edit that plugin (and you probably shouldn't), you'll need to learn about http://cs.elderscrolls.com/constwiki/index.php/De-Isolation_Tutorial to create a new plugin that uses those items. Just dropping them into the world isn't enough - they won't show up. Follow the link and read. :)

Meshes - Armor - NDKnights or Meshes - Armor - NDpelinal depending on which items you are looking for !

Weapons are Meshes - weapons - NDSacred

Most of the items added by KOTN will begin with ND (Nine Divines) in the CS.

Problem is adding them via a mod would mean the armor stand in the priory will not level them with your character like the actual DLC does so you may need to select the leveled version you want.

AS Khettienna mentioned best method would be using de-isolation.
