Starting up again, need some mod help.

Well, I plan on playing oblivion through quite a few more times. Its been a pretty long time since I've played or been on these forums, and I was wondering if you guys could give me a few recommendations.

I'm looking for pretty much anything that will make the game more interesting to play, be that new items or spells or whatever.

I remember back in the day hoping that there was something that would add body part specific damage to at least bows (headshots kill you etc.), but I don't know if anything like that has been made yet.

Thank in advance.

I've been kind of looking around since i made this thread.

The only thing I have right now is OOO.

I remember there being a mod manager back in the day, but i can't seem to find that.

http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=2097. Many folks also find http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=22368 useful.

Naturally, I consider all my own mods essential. ;) Check the first link in my signature. For the most part, they address problematic areas of gameplay rather than adding any actual new content. For most of them, there are alternatives by other modders... if you're not sure about mine, look around and see what sounds like it'll fit your playstyle; but having something addressing each of those categories generally makes for a better game.

One that I haven't personally tackled, and probably won't because it's been done very well already, is the horribly broken economy... check out http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1093612-relz-enhanced-economy/. It does a lot of other stuff, including adding extra quests in the latest version, but that's all optional and disabled by default... the core fixes it provides are essential IMO, even if you don't care for the rest.

Another that I personally find essential is http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=22819, which is best when combined with the Real Lights component of http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1094185-relzbeta-weather-all-natural/. (Nothing wrong with the rest of All Natural, either.)

Finally, and this should probably have been first, the one mod that you'll find everyone agreeing on is the http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1091480-relz-unofficial-oblivion-patch-320-and-326-hotfixes-relz/.

Thanks for all the suggestions.

I'm using a few things you recommended, but I can't get Let There Be Darkness to work. I guess its conflicting with something else i have installed, because i CTD with it enabled, but not when it isn't enabled .

Edit: Got it to work, forgot I got all of the DLC and plugins except for Knight of the Nine.

MMM and OOO make a great new experience. FCOM makes it way interesting with tougher fights. I use SUpreme Magica to overhaul the magic system, pretty nice with many new spells.

If you want archery realism then Duke Patrics archery mod is the way to go from what I see, although I do not use it. Deadly refles is another good realism mod but makes fights very hard, at least for me, so I skipped it. I am more of an adveturer type of player.
