I was enjoying fallout 3, and noticed that after I exited and reloaded the game, my local map which showed the area I had explored was cleared (except for areas near landmarks).

I was hoping to use it to make sure that I never take the same path twice, but it appears this not possible to do if using multiple gaming sessions.

I did a search for local map and permanent, but couldn't find anything in google, or on these forums.

If anyone has already encountered a mod that fixes this issue, a link (or at least a mod name) would be appreciated.
