PC Hud customization

Post » Fri Feb 18, 2011 11:05 pm

I searched around but I couldn't find anything here. Can we customize the HUD or at the very least turn things off?

I would love to be able to:
  • Move the xp in the middle to somewhere else so its not in the middle of the view.
  • Make the health bars and progress bars thinner.
  • shrink ability bar circle or at least change it to bars themselves.
  • move, shrink, or remove completely the smart mode indicator.
  • shrink primary and secondary weapon indications

I rather think it WILL be possible , given the fact that it was in all other games running this engine etc.

Enemy Territory Quake Wars allowed for slight HUD customization - window transparency, complete crosshair control, icon transparency and color, all that good stuff.

They might have moved that over.

This is essentially the same like asked in http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1183653-pc-related-questions/.

My best guess is, that the config files could allow it.
And if SD haven't taken it out, there is an option which makes the HUD elements fade out when inactive for a certain time.

thanks since that thread was a general and did not use the term "HUD" it didnt show up in my search. I hope that since this thread is more specific, people will see this so we can get a definitive answer.

However, like most questions, I would assume we will have to wait until launch to know for sure.

Yes, I would appreciate that as well; the HUD is pretty cluttered honestly.

Hud looks ok to me, however hopefully playing at 1920 x 1080 won't make it as intrusive as 720p :)

Customizable HUD would be a pretty nice asset, as from the videos of gameplay I'd like to move / trim / resize / recolor some elements of the HUD to make it fit my liking more. Haven't read anything about it though.

I'm hoping for similar options on PS3, to be honest.

They should be including this - it's already known the game engine allows it, and SD have had HUD options in previous games, so it would make sense to have it here.
