What races are there to choose? are they the same as TES Oblivoin? I also heard rumors that you cannot pick your own races is that true?

Same races are available - it was said in the UK mag which covered the game, doubtless it was in others too.

You can still pick your race. Whoever said you can't was lying or had bad information.

One site that had infomation about Skyrim mentioned the races and said, "10 Races to choice from," which was followed by. (That's a helluva lot of races) Did they not play the other games because nothing changed. :/

How does it being done before change the fact that ten is a ton of races to choose from?

It doesn't, but it's old news and they're acting as if it's a new and stunning feature, when It's been in the game for atleast the last two games ( probably the other two as well, I wouldn't know I've only played MW and OB) .

Compared to the games Skyrim's being developed and released with, instead of games released almost five years ago, Skyrim's ten races is a new and stunning feature.

Last two (numbered) games had 10, correct. Orcs and Imperials weren't playable until Morrowind. Daggerfall and Arena had 8 playable races. (Well, races you could start out as...then there's the whole vampire/lycanthrope thing too...)
