Have they stated whether or not Menu's are real-time?

I miss Morrowind inventory :((

I played Oblivion on PC and XBox 360, and Morrowind on PC.
I think that Oblivion's was better for XBox. And Morrowind's was great on PC, I'm not sure how good it was on XBox (because I've never played it for XBox...).

I hope it does pause time; that would make life so much easier.

Personally, I'm not too concerned about the realism aspect of menus. What bothers me is the challenge-destroying aspect of the ability to heal your character to full while completely safe in a paused menu.

I dont get this all challenge destorying thing...im sure for you gods this might be more fun. but for the rest of us there is enough challenge by changing difficulty and hardcoe mod.....I suggest you do the same

so my answer to this topic is no realtime inventory and thats all

Realtime inventory has been an issue since the late 80's and 90's. One of the problems was that players in D&D based games could have dual classed mage/fighters in heavy armor and take it off to cast spells, then put it on to have the protection. Games then commonly made it impossible to swap armor during combat, but you could (as very common in Fallout) use unlimited healing in the inventory (while your opponents were frozen in time). Real time inventory made this plausibly risky, and not so exploitable. Diablo had realtime inventory (and did it well IMO). I don't mind RT inventory, but I'd not want realtime menus... If I'm in a menu, I want to be able to read it without a problem, and use it as a means to pause the game.

Also... until games determine that a player has or has not read the actual texts in a book, I don't want real time book reading ~as the game doesn't care, and if I'm reading the book, I don't want to be disturbed by a knife in the back.

Because the difficulty slider doesn't accomplish the same thing. It makes the game more difficult by scaling monster damage and HP to ridiculous levels. This causes the game to become extremely boring because it takes 10 minutes just to kill a bandit.

Why are you reading a book in such a dangerous place?
