Amusei

Microfiction is the art of telling a story in just one scene, usually leaving it unresolved and open to the imagination.
I decided to write one set in the Elder Scrolls world, expanding a character you might remember from Oblivion.

Amusei,

The cold air sears my lunges, but the galoping hooves and whistling arrows encourage me to ignore the discomfort of exhaustion.
I'm used to being chased, so I'm not too worried they'll catch me. I know this area well.
After tonight it became apparent they have agents everywhere, perhaps even within the guild.
Things are falling apart after the Gray Fox vanished and that new watch captain is causing far more trouble than Lex ever did.
Must find S'Krivva, she's smart and knows what to do.
Quietly sliding in the lake, I think of my sister back in Gideon and the septims I left behind in the guild. Seems like I can't buy her a tavern just yet.
I'll simply start over, I always do.

Interesting and fun to read microfiction. I think you did a very nice job of presenting Amusei's character in such a short scene.
