Oblivion Menus Not Aligned

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 6:48 pm

Alright, so my problem is this: menus that are not centered (so that would exclude pressing Esc mid-game) are being clipped on the left and bottom sides so that I cannot read them easily. But, what makes matters far worse, is that the buttons are not actually where they appear to be. For instance, on the Load Game screen (in which I cannot read the text for my saves - they're all jumbled together!) I have to click a little bit below the 'Return' button to go back to the main menu.

This problem began when I switched from an older, fullscreen monitor to a new, flat widescreen monitor. Regardless of what resolution/aspect ratio I switch to, the menu problems remain.

I love Oblivion, and it's an irritation not to be able to play it. Has anyone else had this problem? And, if so, how did you fix it?

I only double-post to make this announcement:

I just fixed my own problem shortly after posting this. So, in the off chance that anybody else runs into this, reset you oblivion.ini file. I guess it had something to do with the fact that I had installed it for my previous hardware (even reinstalling it wouldn't help, since the oblivion.ini file remained unchanged).

So, if anybody gets weird crap going on with their menus... delete the oblivion.ini file found in My Documents\My Games\Oblivion\ and run the game launcher. :)
