Should Skyrim offer this kind of situations, that would then require the making of friends or guides to help you navigate to your destination? And if so, should the guides be 100% loyal or have a disloyalty "fear factor" that rules their behavior when the sky darkens and doom descends?
It could be a way to save some of the mystery of the game for later levels of the story. And if they added these features, we'd be able to use them in making Mods with cool companions who (like Rangers) know only some key locations, meaning you need those Companions for those particular areas, meaning you would be often switching out your Companions in order to navigate the impassible terrain leading to your destination.
I think the feature is pretty cool if it went in even if they didn't use it for Skyrim default game. If only for the Mods....
