A better save system!

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 11:29 am

My stepbrother started a new character on Fallout: New Vegas today and overwrote one of my level 19 characters. I can say with relative certainty that everyone on these forums has had a character lost to BGS save system. While I like being able to save whenever and wherever; its too easy to accidentally delete a character. I propose a system that separates characters from one another similar to ME2! Discuss.

*shrugs* I never really have issues with the way beth games like F:NW saves...well okey being able to name our save files instead of having a number ticking up would be nice, but the basic frame still works for me.

No point in discussing really. You'd be stupid if you wanted to keep the old system instead of something similar to the Mass Effect and Dragon Age system. :P

Sure haven't. Despite that I agree, I'd still like to see something like ME's separated character profiles.

Oh, it's this thread again: http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1166348-should-characters-have-their-own-save-folders/

And this one: http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1157669-will-there-be-seperate-save-folders-for-each-character/

Nope. I've played Morrowind, Oblivion, FO3, and FONV and have never lost a character and have never overridden a save that I didn't want to.

Bethesda can't account for your siblings overriding your save games.

I have put nearly 1,000 hours of play time in Beth open world rpgs and never had this issue, I always keep multiple saves.

Separating characters like DA:O is accounting for your little brother, or big brother. Plus I hate scrolling through my 50 saves to find the one I want.

Bethesda, please separate files based on character. That way I can have as many branch saves as I want without having to deal with other characters getting in the way.
