But there are THREE things in all Bethesda games that simply must be improved.
-Voice Acting. It's not the quality, I think all of the actors they use are superior to every other company except Bioware (who are the kings of in-game voice/cinematics and have been for years). It is the quantity. It seems Bethesda, being a smaller company and with a limited budget (as opposed to the huge budget SWTOR is getting) use about 10 actors. It was depressing hearing that same guy do every male Orc Voice in the game (he was great though). I love voice overs, but please use more actors than the usual Bethesda 8.
-Animations. This is a sore spot on Bethesda's record. For some reason they can create exceptional environments, but the actual character/mob animations (and interactions with that environment) are really, really bad, Morrowind had the population with bizarre walking problems, Oblivion was a little better with the NPC animations but the PC Character animations were so bad that you almost had to download mods just to make it look like a recently made game, Fallout was a bit better but they were still clunky (especially the running and jumping animation of the PC). I don't know why this continues to pop up with every Bethesda game, but please up the quality.
-Spell Animations. Another sore spot. Quite frankly, they are bad...nintendo 16 bit bad. It's like they have all the best people working on the world graphics but suddenly forget the animations and just put in a bunch of third rate stuff.
Fix those three things, or heck even two, and I will be happy. I will buy the game regardless, but depending on PC Modders for better character animations and spell graphics should really not be happening in 2011.
