Stuck in Selenes Web. Arena

Post » Fri Feb 18, 2011 8:17 pm

Hello, I've run into a game breaking problem.

While in Selenes Web I appear to have gotten the drain effect as the status window says : 'You are being drained.'
Problem being I've no idea how to remove it and as it drains 5/6 of my health at each tick it won't let me travel to another town without dying.

Anyone got any ideas?

Thankyou

I'm going to assume you're cursed, although I'm not 100% on that.

Curses aren't usually too bad, but it sounds like you maybe un-lucked out there. Generally, they wear off without hurting you too much. Your options, in order of desirability:

1. Maybe you can cure your curse and don't realize that's the thing to do. I don't believe there's a canned spell for curing curses, but maybe you had the forethought to make one? A longshot, I know.
2. Rest (preferably on a raised platform) till the curse wears off.
3. Keep healing yourself (via spell/potion/magic item) till the curse wears off.
4. Were you travelling to the nearest town? It makes a difference; if not, try that.
5. Restore from a saved game where you're not cursed.

1. I have one to cure curses which doesn't remove it.
2. Resting ends up with me dead.
3. I have been but this thing seems to go on for ages.
4. Yes, but travelling to it leaves me dead.
5. My own stupidity led me to not see this situation happening as I was using a powerful modded character as I kept getting killed in 3 hits by magical wolves with my legitimate character and only used one save with the modded character.

Thanks for your help though.

Dang; dang; dang; and dang. You're welcome, I guess, for all the good it did you! :)

Hold that thought right there. Arena is not really what you'd call a "mod-friendly" game; I wouldn't even call it "moddable", so I'm kind of on the wonder as to what you did. No matter, though; mess with the files and all bets are off, as I think you know by now.

Four words: Potions of Resist Cold.

At first I tried to mod it myself with a Hex Editor, but before long I was bored and frustrated with trying to find the values.
In the end I just downloaded this: http://www.uesp.net/wiki/File:LilithChan.zip
