[Relz]/[WIPz] Oblivifall - Revenge of the Classic

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 2:14 pm

Can you add some occasional garbage/clutter to the castle? Being purely immaculate in cleanliness is kind of unrealistic.

The halls are clear of debris and garbage to allow faster movement of the knights. But there are areas where there's some junk and debris. For instance, there's an underground corridor linking the keep's towers that is seldom used. As such, rats, debris and cobwebs are numerous.

D'oh, another CTD with Let's Talk. I'm talking with a Roadsman who doesn't like me very much, and asking her "Where can I find...". She responds by saying "Start talking already!", I say "Let me ask you something else...", and I crash midway through that line. Happened twice.

Here are three new screenshots, showcasing three Dibella worshippers' outfits.

http://www.invision.tesalliance.org/forums/uploads/1260651680/gallery_415_8_537921.jpg, wearing Gizmodian's Sorceress Outfit
http://www.invision.tesalliance.org/forums/uploads/1260651680/gallery_415_8_216519.jpg, wearing Kikai and AlienSlof's Kinky Chainmail Outfit
http://www.invision.tesalliance.org/forums/uploads/1260651680/gallery_415_8_272892.jpg, wearing Puff's Princess Leia Outfit

Concerning the Healer's outfit. Yes, the Healer is naked under the chainmail skirt and will show nudity, no matter if you have a body mod or not. And that will not be changed. Remember, in Daggerfall, some of Dibella's female worshippers were naked. Having partially naked priests is part of Dibella's lore.
For those who might be sensible to it, his family jewels are well hidden and unless you crouch to look under his sleeves, you won't see them.

Note that if I ever make an add-on to LMR that adds the beauty cults of Dibella around Cyrodiil, including the one about physical beauty, that nudity will be included. But that's an add-on I'll do as a separate file, depends if I have the time or not.

Seriously cannot wait for this mod! Everything looks so incredible. I can hardly step in any of the existing chapels without being disappointed of the drab concrete and alters that stand before me.

The only thing I am cautiously worried about is the compatibility the wilderness lodges will have, however I have faith this is accounted for!

And thanks for your other Oblivifall mods, I love them all!

Thanks! :foodndrink:

Are you talking about the wilderness inns? I doubt there will be compatibility conflicts, as I've only added NPC spawnpoints inside the inns. And horse spawnpoints outside.

"Each knightly order possesses an outpost in the wilderness and a representing member guarding its associated city chapel."

That was what I am referring to, I got lazy and didn't want to track down what term you used so I called them 'lodges' lol. So yea, I was talking about these wilderness outposts.

Cheers!

Ah I see! :P

They *might* conflict with some of Unique Landscapes' modules. I do not use UL, but I'll need to check out if it conflicts. Though I'm positively sure that the Kynaran Order's HQ is placed in the area covered by "The Weald" module.

Kinky, but not tasteless... :) I'm not sure about that ton of chains around priest's waist, though. Doesn't look that good to me.

Dropping in to say I've been following this thread eagerly. Great work ^_^

I have to agree with washington on the healer's chains, tho. The outfit overall seems to fit nicely, but the choker and chains make it seem off or less priestly. Maybe if the chains or choker (i think the chains would probably look fine without the choker) weren't visible, it'd seem just right. But that's just my opinion so ^^;

Edit: My mitsake, washington wasn't referring to the healer's chains =].

Overall, wanted to shower some encouragement here ^^ Screenshots are awesome and I can tell this will be great.

Actually, I was thinking about these chains. Looks very impractical to me.

Personally, I don't like the healer's nipble-pierced chains, but I didn't want to mention that at all.

Thanks for the comment!

I was unsure as well with the choker. But if I remove it (It's part of the mesh), the players who do not have Robert's male body will see a texture glitch between the upper chest and the neck. (You can already spot it on his wrists and hands, as I do not have Robert's Male Body) Then having a choker somewhat makes the priest a "slave to Beauty". :P

The chains are what hold the books of Julianos' scholars. Having it as a book chain belt somehow makes it more interesting than a regular cloth one. :)

Uh, are you sure? Above the chest, there's nothing but the neck, and the neck is the same no matter which body mod you're using, because it's part of the mesh. Or am I wrong here?
About the wrists: As I've said, if you want to remove those glitches/seams, giving them "gauntlets" that are actually nothing but Robert's hand meshes should do the trick.

I agree with washington, by the way. The book on a chain is kind of a fantasy clich? for Asian RPGs or Warhammer-style fantasy, and something that I don't think fits well into the "realistic" setting of TES (i.e. where it's not about stylish visuals, but about handiness).
In my opinion, a bumbag that looks like there might be a book inside would be more in line with the visual style of The Elder Scrolls as we know it since Morrowind (meaning from the time when you could actually make out such details on characters).

But I don't really care either way; I'm a mod tinkerer, and if I don't like something I simply change it myself. :P

Great solution for the hand problem. I didn't even think about it. :P

I'm a big fan of Warhammer's style, sorry. :D
But you are indeed free to change what you don't like as you wish. This is the beauty of modding, isn't? ;)

I have a question, as I've never played Daggerfall, and wonder if it fits lore.

Is it lore feasible to leave trinkets and such for the favour of the gods? I've been leaving Brass Rings as tokens to Nocturnal, but it's mostly just an excuse to pretend to be religious. (my character isn't religious, but knows the Nine and Daedra both exist, and pays tribute) I was wondering if you felt it would fit it to leave some trinkets behind, and maybe get a spell-type blessing or the like similar to what you get at wayshrines.

:EDIT: I wonder, because my rings are starting to get up into the hundreds, and they just sit there. Had to put an Imperial Furniture chest there to keep the lag down.

The interior design of all chapels is now officially finished. This includes the worshippers' quarters and the undercrofts. Schedules are also done for all members of the religious orders, both new and old.

In terms of Knightly Order, the first release of LMR will include the Kynaran Order and Order of the Hour. The others will be released later.

Dialogue and special services still need to be written. But, yes, LMR is progressing very well indeed!

Thank you very much CCR! Glad you like "Let's Talk"! The update for Let's Talk will add the "People" topic, which allows you to ask about quest-related NPCs. Very useful for assassins who want to gather more information from the target's friends. ;)

Lorewise, I believe leaving trinkets is common. For example, in Daggerfall, you can find items in Temples. They range from basic clothing to candles or holy tomes. I believe they might be donations given to the Temples.

In Losing My Religion, currently the only donation you may give is in gold. Donating to a religion earns you more respect from the God's worshippers and, if you donate a big amount, you earn Fame (If you have less than 15) and you can receive a blessing.

I have currently no plans for the donation of items.

And that's all right with me. Gold is probably the easiest to deal with, anyways.

Does that go for the Daedric Shrines, as well? The donations and blessings, I mean.

Thank you very much CCR! Glad you like "Let's Talk"! The update for Let's Talk will add the "People" topic, which allows you to ask about quest-related NPCs. Very useful for assassins who want to gather more information from the target's friends. ;)

I assume this will be tied to disposition so you won't have situations where an NPC is going to tell the mysterious man dressed in black that just stepped out of the shadows that their friend has a very steep staircase that could possibly be exploited by someone to maybe do him some harm. But who on earth would want to do that?

Apart from LMR, I am looking forward Better Inns, anything that liven up the inns are what I seek. But you don't plan to make them full 24 hours, do you? I mean, the inns probably have their "busy hours" and some taverns located on the wilderness probably have less visitors. Also, how about some local or traveling musicians? :violin:
