I am thinking of making a TES strategy game mod

Hello all. I was going to try and teach myself how to make a computer game. I know I have a long way to go. So hopefully 10 years from now, I may have accomplished something. So now I will try and mod some games while learning computer language. (I made a post about this in general for help. Thanks all who helped me there)

So I was going to make a Masters of Orion mod for the Civ IV game. I see someone has already done this. For me there are some things missing so I will be able to add to it hopefully. So I got thinking as well, since someone said I should put it all on paper first, so I got some new ideas. A TES strategy game mod. Just like someone did for Lord of the Rings. (I haven't tried it so not shure how it is.)

So for now I will be using Civ IV to mod a TES tbs game. (I may use Call to Power 2 if I can figure out how to do so.) So what should I put in? What units should be in the game? What techs should be researched? There is a mod for Civ IV called Fall from Heaven II and some how they introduced magic. I haven't tried it yet, but it looks like maybe we can have magic as well.

This is not if it will be a good idea or not. This is what would you like to be in the game? This is for people who like TBS (turn based strategy games). So if you have played Civ IV and know the limitations of what it can do, please give me your suggestions on what to put in, for a TES tbs game.

All I know, is, I will have the Races for the civs.

Maps-the obvious answer is the provinces, but you should have historic, and smaller battles in as well.
Units-Archers,Horseman,Mages,Necromancers,Scouts,the usual
I'm not sure about tech, but this is a really cool idea

Just battles, or like being able to manage cities and such?

Someone made an excellent map of Tamriel for the vanilla Civ 4 last year, http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=310731 the link to the thread.

I would ask to borrow some of the textures and animations from the Fall From Heaven 2 team as well.

Ah darn, the links are gone. I can't download the map. :(.

That is a good idea about the Fall From Heave 2 idea. I am playing that game now to get a feel for it. I think this would be awsome for TES. Now I just have to find out how to contact them.

I think http://forums.civfanatics.com/member.php?u=16695 is the head of the team. He's fairly active on the Civ Fanatics forum, so you could probably just PM him. I might be able to send you the map if I could figure out how to upload things, I think I only have the huge version though.

Well I can't start anywhere but from the begining. I guess the Imperials will be the standard man. By Man I mean the human race. So if we start at the dawn of age, it will be a Settler unit to found our first city. So from there, we should have a scout unit first, and or warrior as well.

So do the warriors just be basic? Sticks stones and what not? Or do we make them more advanced so it's more of a TES feel to it. Sadly I do not know the historical lore of TES as much. So I do not know it there is a history of weaker units, and they got stronger as more technology has advanced for them.

So now I have to go and read TES history again. So if you guys have good ideas please let me know.
