Favorite things to do

Bit of a "let's get to know you more" sort of thread. Anyways, aside from my gaming hobby(addiction), I also am really into music. While we aren't an official band, I have a small thing going with my one friend and my cousin. We are all really into punk rock, my friend is a drummer, my cousin plays guitar, and I have a relatively decent singing voice (eh its alright). When we get together we usually find ourselves screwing around with some lyrics I wrote or something my cousin thought of on his guitar, it's pretty fun. If we could find a bassist we might actually have something (mediocre). I used to be into skateboarding, but that artificial hip I was granted because of my passion tells me that it was probably time to give it up. Other than that, just the normal stuff, hangout with friends, go to parties (yes, I do have a semblance of a real social life. Go figure eh), the usual stuff. So that's pretty much me. What do you guys like to do?

I like watching videos/TV programs and reading information about biology and certain parts of history. I also like watching movies, listening to movies, and talking about video games.

Listening to music, watching movies/tv-shows, anything with my friends, horseback riding, swimming (I used to have time to swim competitively, but after I got my horse I no longer had time or money to do just about anything).

Read history, drinking (beer and wine, mostly) and a bit of cooking or gardening. Eating is also good but only with company. Likewise with sleeping...

The ground is getting soft as the temperatures go up. I'm going metal detecting. I like digging up stuff that hasn't seen the light of day in a while.
I have yet to find a gold ring. I found a couple nice silver ones last year, but no gold yet. Lots of coins. The oldest I've found is a 1919 penny. Location is everything.
I wish I lived in the UK, or could at least visit for a while. If you live in the UK, you should get a metal detector. You can find really old valuable stuff there. Just ask Bill Wyman of the Rolling Stones.....he's http://www.billwyman.com/site/projects/5

Reading, catching up with mates (whenever I can - many have kids so meeting up seems to keep getting more difficult), and geocaching. I play guitar, but not very well at all - purely for myself, I'd never play in front of anyone! I'm thinking of getting a uke; apparently they are easier for people with small hands.

I enjoy reading(Science Fiction, Fantasy, Horror, but also certain types of non-fiction books as well), watching anime & horror flicks, playing chess, watching movies with my wife, fishing(bass & catfish mainly), hunting once in a while, hanging out with my best friend. I used to enjoy rock climbing(I do live on a mountain) and hiking, but not so much anymore. I enjoy listening to music, all kinds with the exception of any type of gospel music and 95% of country music(I like the occasional old Garth Brooks song or a few songs from that era), I even like instrumentals. Oh, I also write, pretty much just poetry, but I have thrown around the idea of writing a trilogy of fantasy novels(at one point in time I had about 15 pages of notes and outlines and 10 pages of the actual story written before I convinced myself It wasn't going to be any good so why bother).

Favourite things to do? Get coffee with friends when I can afford it, go horse riding, especially along the beach...spend time with any of my pets really. I also enjoy a good solid debate or discussion about deep and meaningfull stuff. Oh, and photography. And driving. And swimming. Yep. That's about it.

Hehe, that reminds me of a time when I was much younger, my family was staying with friends in the South Island on a beautiful farm, right at the base of some mountains with a river running right through. I spent hours panning for fool's gold in that river when I discovered the guy we were staying with had a gold pan. I knew it was worth nothing, but it was very fun.

Watch sports, drink, work out. The first two may be combined, the latter two should probably not be. Also, I don't only watch sports, I prefer to play them myself when I have the chance (that may be combined with option #2, with varying results).

Reading books, reading crap quality content on the internet, and that's about it. Also movies, TV,and other stuff that most people do (damn shame reading quality literature isn't in the list of "stuff that most people do", eh?).

So yeah, I'm pretty much your stereotypical nerd, except I don't know anything about programming.
