Let's see.

I love The Man Who Sold The World, both the Bowie original and the Nirvana cover.

I love Ben Harper's cover of Strawberry Fields Forever, but hate anything sung by the Beatles themselves.

I despise Johnny Cash's version of Hurt, his voice sounds so corny with the lyrics. The original is the definitive version.

Call me crazy, but I actually kinda like Don Henley's version of Leonard Cohen's "Everybody Knows."

Agreed on all fronts, especially the intense hatred for Johnny Cash's cover of "Hurt". He's a good singer, but no.

I love New Found Glory's cover of "No Reason Why" by Gorilla Biscuits, Chris Cornell's cover of "Billie Jean", Ben Harper's cover of "Under Pressure", and Saul Williams' cover of "Sunday Bloody Sunday."

HUH!! HUH!! HUH!!
Gag me lol doesn't do the original any justice. Where's dat bass? Dat keyboard? :(

What's the point of making a cover if it's going to sound the same? But I understand, da bass and keyboard added something special to this song. I like Disturbed's cover, though.

Death's version of Judas Priest's Painkiller.

Also prefer Opeth's version of "Circle of the Tyrants" (Originally Celtic Frost), and actually I prefer all of their covers to the original. Then again I'm a bit of a fan boy.

I prefer Hendrix's version of "All Along the Watchtower"

Paul Wellers version of "http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VHjCWVEd7C4" (Originally http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ci-cyrJNA3c)
