[REQ] Book shelf and a mystical archive

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 2:04 am

I am about to dive into opening up the construction set again, but I got some last things for this mod that are done outside of the CS. in the mean time I figured it would be great if I could get 2 models. I figure if I ask now, by the time I need to open the CS up, I might have the models so I won't ever have to STOP my work.

First I would like some dark looking book shelves in a semi-pyramid shape. It would be nice if they look like they are made from something slightly reflective, such as a dull metal or some dark granite. I popped gimp open and doodled out a little quick http://s29.photobucket.com/albums/c271/Teracottapie/?action=view¤t=archiveshelvereference.jpg if you need it. The one problem is, is that I need book to sit in there nice and well, and so if there is a / (slant) to it, thenthat would be an inconvenience to place books. so if you want to fill that space between the top of the slant to the bottom of the slant on the shelf with a straight wall, that would be great!

Additionally I would like a very dark, but mystical looking place for these to sit in, preferably matching. I was thinking of a large round room with a few entrances and exits on two parts of the wall (so I can expand it...make it sort of tileable). I unfortunately don't have a reference image for this though. I was thinking the interior of a guard tower could just be retextured and resized and it will probably work...ofcourse, I think the roof is a bit high..and there is no entrance/exit areas on the walls. that is all I need for this mod, but if you feel daring, then you can make a tileset for the archive/library, but I think that is a bit too much work.

anyways, thank you guys!

EDIT:
oh and if there are any resources that have already achieved this, then just give me those links instead. I tried searching but I didn't get good results - ofcourse, I am proned to not using the right key words to find what I am looking for in searches.

I was gone all weekend so I couldn't bump this guy back up, but it's hit lower than the third page so I am knocking it back up seeing as I have not gotten any word.

Again, I will be most grateful if anyone could make one or both of these :) and I am willing to patiently wait if need be.

Well had you decide that your req was dead yet?
... if so you can forget I posted... unless you don't want it to be quite dead...
in which case: http://www.4shared.com/file/BNr0yVPX/Bookshelf.html
(for your readme: credit to Beatrice Murch for the image the texture is based on)
Let me know if that works (after making it I noticed it had a few differences from your art... if you need changes let me know as well)
Don't have time to make a room for it right now (unless it's a very simple room and a tileset is definitely not possible currently... but maybe someone else will get that done.... or if slightly edited & retextured guard tower pieces would work I might be able to get you that in a few days.
