OBMM functionality question

Post » Fri Feb 18, 2011 11:47 pm

Sorry, couldn't find official thread.

I have the following dilemma. I installed Qarl's III Redimized and Further Reduced medium. Then on top of it installed AWLS, which asked me if I run Qarl's, I said yes, and it overwrote some of Qarl's textures. Cool. But now I'm thinking that Qarl's is too taxing for my machine and I need to go for Qarl's reduced maximum (or maybe delete it altogether. So the question. If I deactivate Qarl's in OBMM, will OBMM also delete the meshes/textures that I overwrote with AWLS (because it thinks those files belong to Qarl's)?

Uninstall Qarl's, then uninstall and reinstall AWLS and choose the no Qarl's option this time.

Otherwise you'll have mismatched textures.

Short answer is "No", OBMM knows that those are owned by Qarls and AWLS and will therefore not delete them, and only delete the resources that were unique to Qarl's.

But it may still be wise to do as showler suggests, since the AWLS install script probably install something special when you have Qarl's there (hence the question during install) - so to clean up the special Qarl's files from AWLS, you should probably de-activate + re-activate the AWLS omod.
