Clothes/armor styles

Post » Fri Feb 18, 2011 10:42 pm

Main point of this thread is to discuss all the different styles/types of clothes you wish to see in the game. Ill start:

1- Full flowing monk robes available in many colors (in oblivion robes were just long tunics and were not exactly flowing.

2- Suit of heavy armor complete with black hood covering or darkening face. - http://m.youtube.com/index?desktop_uri=%2F&gl=CA#/watch?xl=xl_blazer&v=oJQXpRyugzE. (0:24-0:29)

I want a nice set of clothes since I don't wear armor.
All the current clothes make me look ether like a beggar or like some sissy royal.
A pair of clothes that can make me look like a person who can kick you ass would be really nice.

I would love to see a big amount of leather Viking style armor that we have seen, im sure it will be in abundance.

I would also like to see hood that cover you face. Like when you see Strider sitting in the Prancing Pony :).

In my opinion armor should be in the style of various real life styles from history such as from ancient greece and rome to medieval europe and of course plenty of viking and saxon inspired types but still have that fantasy feel to it. i also think armor such as steel should not be just medieval in appearance but many other styles aswell, which brings me on to my next point, i think there should be a multitude of different components that make up a peice of armor such as the helmet, which could have a variety of overall styles, materials, decorations, visors and more, this way it would be hard to find two helmets that look alike, of course i wouldnt go as far as allowing orcish helmet in the style of a medieval gothic full helmet but steel it could be like the barbute from oblivion or an armet style or even a great helm.

you should also be allowed to craft your own armor by mining the ore, putting the correct ratio of the different ore types into the furnace, retriving the bar and then smithing it into the desired item, at the start you should only be able to craft gauntlets of leather or daggers made of iron and slowly progress. also i think you should be able to find the higher level equipment at any time but you must be the required level to use it. well that was kinda long...

I'd actually like to see some quilted armor, similar in thought and style to the Linothorax used in ancient Greece. Visually, similar to what they used in the movie "Troy" but with more Nordic inspiration.

Well armor style I'm hoping the females wear those ridiculously un-protective metal bikinis.
Other than that I like helmets that have cheek guards without visors and crests/horns or stuff that looks like skulls.

One other style I liked on clothing is the apron type thing the hunters pants in Oblivion had. The main character of those starwars games had that on a bunch of his outfits. Apron or like loin cloth over the pants don't know what better describes it.
Skirt like waist stuff I think tends to improve the look of most outfits kilts or the leather tasset stuff legion armor had in oblivion. I tend to play male characters so I like that region to be covered 360 degrees if I'm not in first person view.

I'd like loose pants, oriental monk style. In every TES games all pants were pretty slim, I have nothing against emo guys but a bit of variety would sure be nice.
