10 Months

10 months untill release.

Everyone on here seems to have got the idea that the game is done.

Ok then, so I guess the 100+ devs are all going on PR for 10 months. Cause everyone knows, the game is basically done a year before release.

Shutup. Please. It's annoying.

This is when the basic stages of gameplay develeopment are done. This is where they START putting things in like quests, items, weapons, towns.

If you want to grow wings and shoot fire from above, yeah, it might be a little too late if it's not already there. Cause that's all gameplay. If you want spears, a cool looking town, some sweet caves. Please ask away.

How long do you think it takes to put this stuff in? A town could take a week, maybe a few. An item or weapon could take an afternoon.

Just because the game is playable doesn't make it finished.

I don't think it is 'finished', and frankly I don't see many people claiming it is

But, on the other hand, I feel sure that it is further on in development than you seem to think. I would think that the basic core storyline / quests / factions / gameplay elements will be largely in place, although there will still be the opportunity to tweak and add stuff.

Of course, in the absence f hard information, we are largely playing guesswork here

It's 9 months to release. Your right that the game isn't finished but your wrong about the point in game development. They already have all the towns finished by now, it's part of the world which is already finished. Also, it's highly likely that most quests items and weapons are in. This point in the game development, they are debugging the game right now and adding in more content as they see fit. Then they will move into continued debugging and adding in few more things and polishing the game. It's beyond the point where they are adding towns by now.

Well, I tend to think that the foundations of the game (engine, models, landmass, etc) are probably done now, and now they are going through and adding content, refining, bug testing etc. BUT, I'm not a game developer, so those statements are on par with the crazy ramblings of a hobo.

Either way, I need to find a way to make the next 9 months pass faster. Perhaps I'll work on my personal attributes. I think I"ll go fill the bathtub with water and swim in-place for the next 8 hours. Hopefully I'll have a 5x multiplier for speed when I wake up tomorrow.

Maybe he wasn't saying "You are wrong" but was announcing that it was "his wrong". Yeah, bet you feel silly now.

Reading the forum rules is a very good idea.

Bug hunting, polishing, and testing bug fixes takes more than a day or two. The game hasn't gone gold yet so details aren't locked down. But I doubt there will be drastic additions or changes at this point; changing one thing can accidentally break something else. The fewer changes that have to be made, the fewer chances of introducing new bugs. Like immortal cazadores or geckos.
