Keys and the need for a Keyring

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 7:28 am

So Keys are annoying when you have like 150 of them and you have to scroll through them.( console player). Usually i just pick a spot on the map and drop them all and have a chuckle (oblivion). Every so often I will remember a key I had and dropped that i need for a door. And it is a pain to go through the pile of keys to find the right one. But not as bad as it is having them all in your inventory.

Now remember the Key ring in Fall Out where they all went into the same place and you never had to be bothered with scrolling through them. Not a huge deal but a minor annoyance.

I hope Skyrim has a Key Ring

I'd be pretty surprised if it didn't.

There's also a mod available for Oblivion that adds a keyring. If Skyrim doesn't have one built in, I'm sure a modder will make one soon enough.

This is a no brainer really. Skyrim needs a keyring you are completely correct. If they don’t add one, we shall have cluttered inventories once again! And ill eat someones hat :P

If we don't have a keyring, my head will explode. I mean, Deus Ex had one eleven years earlier!

I have attempted to make "folk art" out of them and to be honest I just don't want to anymore Key art is just so out of date. And I may join you in eating Hats These guys hats - :intergalactic:

I really hope there will be a key ring.
If not, yes it will be annoying dealing with trying to find a key you need, but I remember reading about the ability to favorite weapons in the inventory (I hope this also applies to keys) because then you could maybe favorite important keys you happen to use often to find them easier?

I love browsing 10 pages of keys.

I also want the keys have weight so you'll think it's a good idea to drop them somewhere and then find out you need one of the keys you dropped and can't remember where you dropped it.
This would be even more awesome if the game didn't have fast-travel.

Personally, I think a keyring is the least they should do. But how many times do we get a key for one door and never use it again?

This is why I propose a better solution: The Key-Hammer of Cranial Opening. The weapon starts off very weak and useless, but as you accumulate more keys in your travels and attach them to the key ring at top of the weapon, it gains damage points and enchantments. Pretty soon, you're going all over the world, looking for keys to bolster the weapon's stats.

I joke of course, but part of me would like some type of payoff or reward for collecting keys..you know, besides being able to open doors. At least in Oblivion, if I collected indexes, I could use those teleportations devices.

In Oblivion, I have a nasty habit of collecting every key I find. Now when I scroll past the key's it takes me about 10'ish seconds. Key rings would be greatly appreciated.

They implemented a keyring in Fallout 3, so I don't see why they wouldn't add one in Skyrim.
