[Req] Knights of Tamriel

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 7:25 am

Hello fellow forum user people :), If i think theres one thing that makes oblivon playable for me is to look and appreciate the awesome armors in the vanilla and mod made armors by fellow forum users. One armor series from the Morrowind mods is Jermey's Knights of Tamriel http://www.geocities.com/jw_mcguinn/armory.html Im politely asking if anyone can make the armors as seen in the website (btw click enter a few times to see). It would be awesome to see such mods like for ex. Knights of Kynereth. I know theres a armor set existant to the name. But I would enjoy seeing the armor EXACTLY the way its depicted in Morrowind. I love the helmet and armor and if it were to come to oblivion, it be a dream come true. So in conclusion, is it possible for ANYONE to create these magnificent armors. (btw, i know a set exists of the last pic, forgot the name so no need to post it :) )
Thanks!

Well my personal friend, Eventine Shangea made a version of Akatosh Chantry http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=14643, however he didnt get to go much further than this. If you have a lot of interest in the mod though, you could try recreating the rest of the set yourself =D. If you do, be sure to let me know, I'd love to see it made too.

I started doing this with Jeremy's original textures 3 days ago after I made a post about it in another thread. Problem is that textures from morrowind are tiny and pretty much unusable in Oblivion. I did the Kynareth Cuirass and ended up with this:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v622/Jester814/kycuirass.jpg

You can't tell very well from the screen, but the texture looks pretty terrible in the CS(didn't even try it out in game), which svcks because I was excited to mash up the textures with existing Oblivion armor, but I honestly can't.

If any texturer wants to tackle the textures, I can/will take existing Oblivion resources and put the meshes together in what I think would make a good base for all the suits. I already sent Eventine Shangea a PM about it but his/her last login was over a month ago.

I just wish I could make 3d models and textures like some of the really good guys on here.

Excellent textures. The latter is inspired by Jeremy's work.

Its actually coming out good so far, avoiding the textures, Just the imagae on the cuirass is one whole symbol not serperate just so u know, and you could look around for someone to do it, idk any famous textures, you could try themythofstrider, i believe hes good in that field.

You're probably not going to be able to fine anyone to do exact replicas. You'll have to settle for "close" and good looking if anyone even does them at all. There's a reason the symbol is two separate symbols but you'd have to understand how textures wrap around meshes if I was going to explain. I could not keep the symbol as it was before in one piece.

The armor itself is just the Iron cuirass with the steel shoulders. Nothing fancy.

Oh, well... I did all the helmets for those armors some time ago for Eventine Shangea, who was trying to recreate Oblivion versions of all those armors... unfortunately Eventine managed to release only one so far, but all the helmets are there. Xbition also had a copy of the helmets I have made, but apparently he could not find anyone willing to work on the armors. You should try to contact them if you want to know more about the project. Some time ago they had a thread, but now I can't find it any longer, the title was something like "guardians of the nine".

Cheers

Yes im aware of that, but those arent exactly the same replicas of what im lookn for, thanks for sharing it tho. And Lancillotto could you be able to give the helmets to jester or me since you created them and we 2 are willing to get these armors action? and ill try to get ahold of them, if you could help out since u were in contact with them, it be great.

Lancilotto,

If you still have the helmets I would absolutely love to get them as a base for making the armors(and maybe others). I have pretty dismal luck getting replies from PMs on this board in a timely manner(I have about 50% response rate, yourself included). I already PMed Eventine as I stated above. I'll PM Xbition but I'm not crossing my fingers on a response.

I'll PM you my e-mail address.

Oh and here's an armor I've already using one of your helmets:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v622/Jester814/SkSteel.jpg

Nothing fancy, but that's the purpose of that particular armor. Just steel and leather. ;)

By the way, if I do get started on this project, the armors aren't going to be exact replicas, but as close as I can get with what I have(vanilla meshes with a few resources that I have permissions to utilize). If any texturer wants to help out it would make doing this about 100% easier on me, but otherwise it's going to be a lot of cut and paste on my part.

Well hopefully we can get a response out of either of the 3, if any unfortunately dont respond we could try to ask Phitt, i know hes good at making helms, but thats a last resort since theyre already made helmets by Lancilotto.

Hi, Eventine didn't show up in quite some time, and I am sure that Xbition will have no problem if I give those helmets to Jester, cause all he wanted was to find somebody willing to recreate the armors that Jeremy made for Morrowind. If Jester is that willing one, then he'll have my helmets.

Cheers
