[REQz] Visually altered magic

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 1:23 pm

I'm basically looking for mods that change the appearance of spells in oblivion. I don't want any overhauls like LAME or Midas Magic, but something that improves the looks of vanilla spells. Like, better-looking fireballs and lightning bolts.

Answers will be appreciated. :)

I use a combination of http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=9424 and http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=22119. Doesn't change fireballs though afaik, I even think my changed lightning bolts are from LAME. But everything else will look better. :)

Version 2 of VanillaBean's magic effect replacer does alter some of the Destruction FX, but it's only available on his blog- the link to that is in Vanilla's Nexus profile page.

Anyway, it's a fine replacer. Been using it forever. :)

Do you have a link to the blog entry? I tried to find it using google translate but japanese is pretty hard to auto translate it seems, many of the images don't load for me either.

You have to go to the nexus profile page which includes the link to his blog. From there, along the right hand side if you scroll down there is a pane with links to different "categories" which includes Magic Effects http://vanillavillage.blog54.fc2.com/blog-category-7.html. ;)

Thanks, Aequitas- you beat me to posting. I sent a PM then realized I could just answer here...I'm having coffee "issues". :D And if a download link doesn't work, turn your translator off- they can meddle with download links.

Teehee, I was actually interested because I already use that combo and was unaware of the V2, so I started scouring the site :P
