Some more Arena questions

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 9:16 am

Just a for things I want to know about arena:

1. What is the smallest town/citiy you have found? (I dont except THE smallest one cause there are so many)
2. How much health and magicka do you heal each hour you rest?
3. Has anyone got a map/s of the generic dungeons?
4. How many different 'house' layouts are there?
5. Level 10 is the max level right? Is killing monsters the only way to get XP?

Any principality that bills itself as a "Village" is the smallest a place can be. There are 16 x 8 = 128 such places in Tamriel.

2. How much health and magicka do you heal each hour you rest?

That is dependent on your Endurance. It is also dependent on where you rest.

3. Has anyone got a map/s of the generic dungeons?

Once upon a time I posted those on the UESP Wiki. They may still be there if the mental defective that was editing that part of the site saw fit to leave them alone.

4. How many different 'house' layouts are there?

Good question. I never took the trouble to figure that out, myself.

5. Level 10 is the max level right?

No. Arena is theoretically infinite in levelling, I believe. However, there is a practical limit of about 25 levels due to the nature of experience accumulation.

Is killing monsters the only way to get XP?

Yes, and the monsters scale, to a point, which is one reason why it is pretty easy to get to roughly level 20 but difficult to level after about level 22 or so. The other reason is the sheer weight of experience you need to advance at those rarefied levels.

I'm pretty sure you get XP for running those little tavern/nobility quests, too, even if it's only delivering or picking up something from the local shops. I've gained experience levels after successfully returning an item to the proper owner or escorting an NPC in Arena, even when there was no combat involved in the job at all. I've never taken the time to check into how much XP quests are worth, though.

Hm. You could be correct...after my first time through Arena, I never bothered with those again, so I don't think of them. The gains were more intangible (happiness) than tangible (coin). Maybe someone will verify.

can anyone tell me what i wrong on this http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Arena:Classes?

the experience levels seem much to high as you can easily gain 2 levels in the starting dungeon, yet seeing as goblins only give 25 xp that seems a little wrong...

Nothing, actually, except for the last bullet point on the page is 100% incorrect. After level 10, you need 50% more XP to level at each level. That's explained in the thread here titled "Arena Playability Tips".

This is what I meant by "mental defective". He had the gall to make changes to my carefully written and researched stuff (as if he can write or think better than I), yet leaves crap like that there. I'm convinced he never played Arena. I'm done trying to help folks through that area...I did what I could, then I went all Pontus Pilate on them. /rant

Ahem...whew.

There are enough goblins and rats in the starting dungeon that you should get to level 4 if you clear it out.

I also just recalled that you get like 10000 XP for grabbing a Staff piece, so there's also that.

99% of your experience will be monster-based, though.

Okay, I went and did some testing of my own, and oit appears that the exp values on the creatures are all wrong.

When I killed a goblin I got anywhere from 80 to 200 XP, and with rats, anywhere from 45 to 65 XP. Each time it seemd like a random number between them (but it always ended with a 0 or 5).

I also saw that you start with 700 XP, which is why you reach level 1 so quickly.

another question anda bump for the experience one.

in the random dungeons, will a layout always have the same wall colours? or do they change?

EDIT: oh, and i found out all cities are the same size, all that changes are the amount buildings in them.

They do not change. Different layouts have different superficialities, as you probably already know, but a layout will not change.
