Armors of Skyrim

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 4:23 am

Recently I have been looking at the Skyrim screenshots again and I have noticed armor that I do not recognize so what do you think is going to be in Skyrim? I honestly think:

-Nordic(Fur type armor)
-Orcish
-Steel
-Iron
-Fur
-Mammoth skin
-Glass
-Ebony
-Amber?
-Leather
-Bonemold?
There are probably more but its 2:55 AM and I have school in the morning -_- post freely and bye

I really don't want just the material of the armour.. as in "steel" or "ebony".
I know it gets overly complicated however the P&P gamer in me likes it when material, type, style and make are all combined.
So I'd like elven full plate, or orcish cold steel chainmail, or even glass dunmer splint.
No armour style should just be one type, there should be light orchish and heavy elven as well.

Types generally that nords would use should come first, then those nations that they have close contact to.
Followed by rarer loot and adventurers from far off pieces of armour.

I will be suprised if they don't include a nordic version of steel and chain armor. It was in MW and it will fit the culture.
I generally hope they have more versions of one type of armor, like orcish plate, orcish half-plate etc.

i hope there's more of a variety and i hope it looks better, Oblivion had possibly the worst helms of any game excluding the KofN helm, but they definitely need to make the first few armors (light and heavy) Nordic style, i feel like that would really draw you into the game

NORDIC, PERIOD.

Not just armors but also weaponry. The Nordic axe was the only good looking weapon in Morrowind, and I'd really like some heavy Nordic Mails as well.

I second this.

One of the (minor) things I dislike about TES games so far is that to wear a certain "make" of armour, my characters were bound to a certain weight and style of armour also. What about medium-weight daedric mail, heavy ornamental elven, etc?

Elven armour appears to be confirmed (GI screenshot). I'd like to see full sets of nordic trollbone this time, complete with skull helm! And I guess there'll be imperial steel/silver of some sort.

Just as long as I get my Glass armor I'll be happy  .
But of course variety is nice.

Would like to see more variation like how most races have their own version of it:
orcish steel
orcish glass

I'd at least like to see multiple variations of material. For example Mithril Mail, Mithril Plate, etc, as well as locational/racial differences. I'd like to see each smith have their own little quirks and styles too(for basic stuff anyway) and this should go for weapons as well. More variation is good, and allows more options for those who care about they wear.
