Do you mean like changing the default face, or do you mean adding more sliders? Most people just play around with the different setting until they get a face that they like.

I know what you mean; getting good results with that program is like pulling teeth...

Well you have this option:
You could try using FaceGen - you can DL the Demo for free, then either use that program to make a face you like or use photos to generate a likeness to someone you want to look like, then import it into your oblivion save file using a converter program...

Here is a youtube video that shows you how to do it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d3MvT6TQKfQ
Keep in mind you don't have to make a weird looking guy like in the video... :)

Here's the link to FaceGen (free demo - actual version is expensive!): http://www.facegen.com/

And a Converter (it might not be the only one out there): http://www.speedyshare.com/118198308.html

I am currently doing this to make my character have my own face! (more or less :P)

Have fun!

If using a vanilla race I think the easiest solution is to download a save game with a premade face from TES Nexus, then import it to your save with Wrye Bash, then perhaps tweak it a bit manually.

Warning: It may give bad result when your character uses custom head mesh. For me, applying it on idkrrr's head meshes is the worst. Applying Facegen faces on Ren's meshes is not so bad.

I kind of wondered the same. I thought one of the limitations was that you couldn't save with the free version, so I have never tried it.

Yep, that's the version I have. I don't think there is a time limit on the demo; you just can't export the face files directly to Oblivion with it (and it puts those little "SI" initials on the forehead of the faces when you make a jpg of it.

That's why you have to use those other programs to import to your Oblivion saves. It works fine once you get the gist of it. Just make sure you import the face as the same Race as the one on your save or it can cause game problems.

So if you want to be a Nord, make a save game with a nord character, then import the face you made with Facegen as a Nord using the "FaceGen to Oblivion Converter" program. Select the Force "Shape" and Force "Tone" option check boxes at the bottom of FG2OB prog to keep Oblivion from messing up your face too badly (it never comes out exactly the same anyway).

The other program "Oblivion Face Exchange Lite" isn't needed for that, although it has many more options and I haven't looked at it extensively yet.

I found a couple of things you may be interested in seeing, what you could do is take one of these which is closest to what you want the face to look like then play around until it matches what you want exactly.

http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=4457 http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=16284 http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=19568 http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=18474 http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=14580 http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=5294 http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=6553 http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=20952 http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=4536 http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=12038

They are mostly face models, I'm not sure which race you were planning on so I included a variety, look through them and check if there's anything that you might use.

What do you mean by combine faces? Do you mean like just taking e.g. the nose from one face, the eyebrows from another face, the tone of another, etc.?

If you mean morphing between two faces, you can do that with the FaceGen program provided you can find (or make it yourself from photos) the FG files for the faces you want. Then you would have to import the resulting FG file to your save using the conversion program.

Picking certain features that you like and putting them on one face would be a bit more complex.

Photofit? As in the law enforcement face matching kit? Not sure what you are talking about... I just used the Facegen demo version and this program:

And a Converter (it might not be the only one out there): http://www.speedyshare.com/118198308.html

It worked fine for me. I tried it on an existing save and as long as I matched it to the race on the save, it worked but depending on the race the face was a little morphed, even though I set the converter to "Force" it to accept Facegen face instead of allowing race morphing to occur... This was fairly mild... Imperial - a little darkening around the eyes and a more Mediterranean look, I think; Nord had a paler complexion, bigger lips/mouth for some reason; Breton face was maybe the least changed, not sure - maybe softening of the features, a little rounding of the face...

Should work though.
