Odd problem... Text popups and locations have scrambled mess

Also happens whenever i load a game a pop up box says something about mom.ini with scrambled mess surrounded it like $!@$awjakfl12@$mom.ini !@$!@$

Ok i'm aware that mom = mystery of mausoleum and I put the mom.ini file in the pluggy folder in the my documents

So yes, I don't get that annoying pop up anymore

MoM is in chinese.

Also in the dialogue chat with any NPC that has "rumor" option it is also a scrambled mess.

If it adds or changes any rumors, you're likely getting their changes.

Have you looked in TES4Edit to see what is "related to the mod"? A lot of mods change a lot more than you think.

I don't use edit... however is there a way to edit it in the construction set so it does not ruin my rumors option for all npcs? its rather annoying :)

If you do, you're likely to break the mod....those rumours must be there for some reason.

Have you searched the TESNexus forum thread for advice? Checked the English walkthrough to see if it has any helpful advice?

The underlying problem is that the mod was created with a non-english version of the original content. The same thing happens whenever a German or French copy is used. Anything the mod changes is replaced with the mod's copy which has all its attributes taken from the localised version they loaded into their CS, including name strings. This gets worse when you don't have a character set that can display it properly, as in the case of Chinese here.
Since the formid for an English, German, Chinese... instance of an item is the same, the overrides all work when everything is loaded, but the last one in determines the language it shows up as.

In principle, the same thing can be reversed using an english-language base again, but the added content still needs to be translated, as there's no original to revert to for that.
