[WIPz] DB's Oblivion Overhaul (DBOO)

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 6:18 am

DB's Oblivion Overhaul (DBOO)

Makes quests static: actors you fight with and against (them and their inventories) not nuisance beasts (i.e. rats and mud crabs). Traps, locks, rewards, contents of quest-specific containers and boss containers in quest locations.

This means that if you find a quest too difficult, you can fall back and improve your character and return, knowing that the enemies will not have become magically stronger. Also any enemies you've already killed will not magically reappear.

Currently for vanilla, Mehrunes Razor, Orrey and Thieves Den. Will be extended to SI, Fighters Stronghold and Knights of the Nine. I aim to be compatible with my current load order, though will take requests for compat. with other popular mods later.

Progress: In final stages of testing.

What did you think my mod did?

I thought it only managed the rewards.

Did you solve the issue with DBSQR and CrimsonScar?

I just now got your pm on the nexus. Anyway, I cleaned Crimson Scar. It makes such a small change I hadn't thought to clean it. That was really nice of you to look into it. But now my game freezes from some other part of DBSQR, even when the DBSQR - Vile Lair SMPR Full and DBSQR - Vile Lair.esp are not active. I'll share my load order in an appropriate thread when I'm ready to troubleshoot. I've been in the Diablo II mood lately though.

Is there really no one, other than friend Anthrop and myself, interested in fixed-level quests?

I'm interested!

I just posted on the "Mod Detectives" thread wondering about something like this - then I found this thread. :)
