Most underrated class?

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 1:47 am

The solider won't be the most appreciated class and as many people said before, they have their certain roles to play. Too many games take the 'solider class' as the basic class that people think that they easy kills to get.

Op/soldier for me. Now I am behind the lines and never run out of ammo.

Earlier you mentioned you were planning on adding Engineer abilities to augment your Op skills much as I was going to add Ops skills to my Engineer. That still the case or are you rebuilding completely?

You do know you can only be one class at a time, right Wraith?

Being able to give yourself ammo AND health ain't bad either, you're a freaking unstoppable killing machine. :chaos:

I'm pretty sure out of everyone on the forum, Wraith knows.
If you play S.M.A.R.T (bad puns ftw) you won't need to give yourself health.

What if you hurt yourself intentionally, out of pity?

That was sarcasm, out of anyone I know on this forum, Wraith's probably the most pro out of any. And he knows A LOT about Brink.

My Prediction when the dust settles (Most used to least used):

1. Engineer
2. Medic
3. Operative
4. Soldier

1. Medium
2. Light
3. Heavy

just a quick question, soldiers can give themselves ammo too right?

Yes, they can, but it's not like on Bad Company 2, where everyone can crap ammunition and health boxes.

Nope still doing the Op/Eng first then maybe Soldier/Op

Only one class at a time nonsense :spotted owl: We are talking about dual specing characters. Also I don't need to give my self health that is why I keep  around.

I like being the underdog class so HEAVY medic sounds interesting to me i might entertain it for a few weeks and see if i can become a pretty good one then make a transition to a lighter class and see if that excels it

My list of people's class choices. 1 = most chosen 4 = least chosen

1. Soldier. All the CoD fans will immediately pick this class
2. Operative. All the Killzone 3 fans will immediately pick this class
3. Engineer. See below
4. Medic. Very few people want to be a medic

JUST A PREDICTION

I know alot of the people who buy this game will come from Killzone 3 or CoD

I see the potential in the soldier, heck with the right abilities/Command Posts/Buffs from certain other teammates the Light soldier will have health along the lines somewhere between medium and heavy bodytypes. With the ability to tactically use grenades, give teammates ammo upgrades to help.

A GREAT soldier will be more beneficial then most are making him out to be. there lumping him in as some generic jack of all trades. I will be going SLDR/ENGY or SLDR/MED on release day to help round out situational stuff for my team but for fun without worrying..pure light soldier

In all the polls on various forums that I'm seeing it seems like a fairly even spread. However, I wonder how diverse forum goers are. I'm assuming we're all fairly hardcoe.

heavy medic indeed. In games that allow me to increase my health and healing abilities, I always choose that as my second favorite playing style. My first being shotgun-rush of course.

Right so, as a dedicated Soldier... -cough-

I'd like to say that unfortunately, as much as you might not want to play one, you might have to.
If you want to blow up the objective, guess what. You will need a SoldierNapalm.

If you want the objective to be repaired and there isn't and Engineer on your team, you will have to play one.
No Operatives? No Hacks. And they are needed, trust me.
No Medics? Well, heh. In Brink I think you might as well quit or change to Medic. Because it will slow everything down.
This is why pre-mades are always 100 times better than randoms. Why? Because its hard to force classes when you can change them on the fly.

What will I be doing? I'll be spec'd for Soldier obviously, but I will also play backup Engineer when needed.
Hopefully, randoms are worked better than in other games. Hopefully, people will WANT to play other classes like in TF2.
Even though they prefer one over the other, hopefully they will like the others enough to want to play them.

This is why my Medic will also be spec'd with a good amount of Soldier abilities; Soldiers are always needed to move the game along.

I disaggre with that, if you look at the results in the Brink poll started by Wraith the order is more like this:
Operative
Engineer
Soldier
Medic
and the difference between soldier and medic is 2 votes so...
