I'm sorry but no, Spears are not a part of TES lore. What part of TES lore has Spears as an integrated aspect? That doesn't even make sense.

Until we know what "not in the classic spear sense" means, we can't really say much, if halberds are in, than my argonian will be fine.

What? A high elf can do well without magic. My argonian doesn't even know what a spear is, he stealth to kill his foes. His cousin on the orther hand is a necromancer, he doesn't know what a spear is either.

I know people are just going to assume I am a spear fanatic for saying this ( I never used spears in Morrowind, and didn't really notice them not being around in Oblivion) but I think that a spear makes a lot of sense for Skyrim. What weapon would make as much sense for fighting a giant dragon? From a historical standpoint, the best weapon used to fight a dangerous beast (boar, wolverine, wolves) that you didn't want to get close to would be a spear. Bows were used to hunt creatures that would be less likely to withstand a direct hit (deer, birds, etc) yet would still flee. There aren't many other options to fight a creature that could fly, unless you had some other way to force it down to the ground where it would lose its greatest advantage. A sword or ax wouldn't be used for fighting a beast at all, and would be reserved for fighting human enemies. Spears make a bit of sense for lore and the historical sense, but in a world of magic may be a bit redundant.

So, what, you're calling me a troll because I'm vocal about what I believe would make Skyrim better? You know what, this isn't even worth fighting about. Things like this are why I've been avoiding the Skyrim section. It always seems like somebody has to diss spears, and I always have to jump to spears' defenses. :facepalm: Oh well, now I'll just mosey on back to the Fan Fiction area of the forums. Less arguing over there.

No I'm not calling you a troll; I just think it’s far too many spears that that bring little new. I’m probably more of a troll myself with my comments in all directions. :poke:
For the record I would want spears inn and had a character that used spear as main weapon and another who had it as secondary in Morrowind, however if pole arms are done right as in long enough they will work just as well but we have seen to little information.
