http://chorrol.com/forums/index.php?showforum=10 It is chock full of stories from 5-6 years ago that people intended to put into Oblivion.

I'm sure none of them (myself included) would object to you just moving the texts across to this iteration of the mod. I wrote 3 stories there myself but I was 15/16 at the time so they're probably a bit rubbish. Feel free to use them if you think they're good enough. On second thoughts I've just reread them, god they're bad...don't use them.

I failed to add it previously, but I _do_ have have access to a compilation of books (42 of them) that are already ready to go, should they be desired. They were written for Oblivion by forum members, and though their compliance with lore is dubious for the most part, many of them are quite a good read. It's already on TESNexus as "Elder Scrolls Book Club Oblivion". I created the mod and could probably access the texts with little effort - I'd just have to redownload and edit the mod because it's long gone from my computer. You can find it here:

http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=9931

I also wrote some books for a mod a long time back that never did get a REL... I could perhaps dig for those, too.

i have a one shot story about a mod i want to make
its about the orsimer and the chimmer and a tribe that spawned between them.
effected by both the curse of Lorkhan (or azura depending on the story you believe) and the devouring of Malauch.
they became half orc half dunmer and are a nomadic hunter tribe that have survived throughout Tamrielic history migrating through the mountains and small islands on the sea of ghosts.
feared to be dead or have never existed in the first place,
its not lore but its one of those things that could be and would be badass.

the story will be a short about 3 Breton scholars who are searching for an old Daedric ruin on the borders of Skyrim and highrock and are trapped in a cave durring a blizzard, they each tell a separate part of the tribes history and fall asleep, they wake up in the camp of the Dark Orcs bound and gagged with a hooded figure sitting in the corner of the hut staring at them.
i wont reveal any more.
but its a series. it makes fun of national geographic.

So the Oblivion project kinda died? Still, if the books can be salvaged we can give it another try and include those too... I'm pretty sure I'll still be around here next year and unless they drastically overhaul the construction set I shouldn't have any trouble adding them.

This sounds like an awesome idea! I'm certainly no lore-buff, but I think I'll try to write a story of my own, and just avoid lore. I'm a slow writer though, so we'll see what I can come up with.

I'll try to write a story, and I'm a decent proofreader, if you need help with that.

This sounds cool. I have a story or two already written that might work.

Also, I made a program a while back that I think will be tremendous help to this. It's called Oblivion Book Creator, but assuming Bethesda keeps the same HTML-style book formatting then it should work for Skyrim as well. It should help with the tediousness of converting the plain text. You can try it out in my sig or download it http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=29124. It has a couple of bugs here and there that I need to get around to fixing but it should work fine. Just thought that it was pretty relevant to this project

I'm pretty experienced with the CS too so when Skyrim comes out and you're looking for help I might be able to contribute some, but no promises as I don't know how busy I'll be around then...

I like the idea. I will work on a short story in my free time so I should be done around the start of the summer the way I am expecting this semester to go.

I was approached for my fic to be included in the Oblivion Tes F'rum a few years ago, but I think it's too long to be included now. Will this library focus mainly on in-game non fiction? If so I'd quite like to whip up something new.

Did this idea just die then, or is it still going ahead?

Ooh, this got moved to the FanFic forum. I was considering this myself to get more attention from the writers anyway.

I'm open to most literature types being included. The library will likely be split into TES Fiction, TES Non-Fiction, and Non-TES sections.

Still going ahead. I've just been occupied with a few other things the last few weeks. Plenty of time to be collecting stuff together though.

Ok, time to be more pro-active about this. Lady Nerevar has already agreed to help out with proof reading and such, and I'd like another 3 or 4 people to "officially" come on board. Preferably people with either a good amount of fanfic writing behind them, or people clued up on lore (especially around Skyrim) who can pick up on inconsistencies. A good standard of English is, of course, required. Someone with some large-mod experience would also be nice. From there, I'll get a submissions email address set up, forward on what I've been sent so far, and we can figure out how to go about discussing pieces in the least clunky way.

Glad to see this is still going. With Undone and Lady Nerevar already onboard, it's already a promising project. I'm happy to help, but I'll keep my role to a secondary one if possible - I merely dabble in lore and fan-fiction, so there's surely many more suitable candidates anyway. At least I've got a relatively firm grasp on the English language, even if it's mostly done from a conversational and informal bent.

And we know that we'll have the Creation Kit at our disposal, so that's exciting!
