Mystic emporium gone

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 10:47 am

Just the persistent references remained (maybe a quill also) - and Callindil and the Frostcrag lady keep falling in a black nothingness and snapping to the pathgrid ad infinitum

I made a test.esp moving just the building (ICGroundFloor16.NIF) which conflicts with :
Record type: Cell (CELL)
EDID: ICMarketDistrictMysticEmporium
FormID: 0002C163

Overrides original entry in 'Oblivion.esm'
Overlaps with bookplacing.esm, Unofficial Oblivion Patch.esp, bookplacing.esp, Oscuro's_Oblivion_Overhaul.esp, The Ayleid Steps.esp and DLCFrostcrag.esp

Loading those plugins in the CS everything is in place
How I go about debugging this one

If a mod changing anything in there is and esmified ESP (should be blue in Wrye Bash), that will seriously mess the place up, including lack of floors often.

Thanks ! - did a quick test disabling bookplacing.esm and lo and behold -the building is back :goodjob:

Could you please give me some more insight links etc
Why when I opened the CS - with bookplacing and all other mods that ever touched this floor - everything was there ?
How would one go about debugging this ?? (and where would I report it - BOSS thread ?)

Did I say thank you :) ?

I'm not sure where to find details, but I've heard the problem comes when a Master file alters something from another Master file.

Master files are intended to contain new records only, I believe, with all changes to records occurring in ESP files. So if Bookplacing.esm is altering that cell, it probably shouldn't be....those changes should be in a Bookplacing.esp.

At least, that's what I understood. If I'm wrong, hopefully someone can correct my information.

Are you using Book Placement http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=2582 or http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=6262? The ESM for V1 is about 1.63 MB and seems to contain a lot of changed records, while the ESM for v2 is 240 KB and seems a lot cleaner.

Any mod that's flagged as an ESM and alters a worldspace or an inteior cell will cause this problem. So that bookplacing.esm is to blame and probably needs to be fixed as it's altering something in an interior cell that belongs to Oblivion.esm.

Switched to version 2 and all works fine :)
