Gamereactor, Nordic Magazine, Arrived

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 2:37 am

It's not that one. The one in Gamereactor is the same as the one in the Spanish magazine, I think. It's the same ruin, but it's shot from below, so you see the belly and throat of the dragon. But in GR we've got the whole photo -- in the Spanish one it's only the cut out dragon and parts of the ruin.

...Why has nobody mentioned this extra screenshot in all this time?

They aren't speaking about the pdf, they're speaking of the web version of the article.

Because it's really old ? (internet time) Didn't see it as necessary to talk about it here since we saw it like a week ago in the Spanish mag (which is available on pdf -- just google micromania)

They aren't speaking about the pdf, they're speaking of the web version of the article.

Edit:
They are speaking of both. Otherwise there would be no reason at all for Bethesda to forbid Gamereactor to release an online version of the magazine, when the relevant information can be found in a pdf-article a few links away on the same site.

And that's the pdf. Duh.
There is no "web article" of single cover stories for Gamereactor. There is only a pdf version for each issue that is released completely.

Thefore, the Gamereactor article, nor any other article in nr 82, won't be uploaded until a few weeks.

Here's the cover story of the december issue:

Get this straight now... Gamereactor NEVER publishes the pdf until a month or so after release. Take som chill pills.

Indeed, it's not some order from Bethesoft or some other conspiracy. The PDF is released noticeably later than the paper release, that has always been the case.

True. Kinda weird, seeing that it's free anyway -- but hey, they've gotta find some way to drag our asses down to the stores. Perhaps they think we'll think to ourselves "Hmm... since I'm first here, I might as well buy a game. Look, only a hundred dollars for that game that was released two years ago!" (Spaceworld is kinda expensive... and we have a high price level in Norway)

Haha yeah I realized my mistaking of the differentials between a single article and a whole issue being released; therefore, I changed my post ;)

In any case, there won't be any way to check it online (whether its the article of the issue) at all until the next few weeks.

They release the articles later on the web because of the commercials in the magazine. If the articles weren't print exclusive for atleast a while it would be pretty hard to sell some as space ;) !

You mean this picture?

http://www.gamereactor.se/media/59/elderscrolls5_235967b.jpg

The picture in this is not a new picture this one has already been confirmed as a pic from early in the game like well over a yr ago so it doesnt come up to par with what is now in game at all.

I didn't say that.

There is generally quite a big differance in price between web ads and printed ads. Printed ads are seen as more effective and therefore cost more.

If this wouldn't be the case, I don't see why Gamereactor would do a magazine at all instead of just doing everything through their website.

Just finally got the issue myself, really like the description of radiant story with the brother vengeance stuff. The whole stuff about using a 1handed weapons with two hands for greater effect, also sounds very promising.

In one of the pics we also see a Glass Mace, but it's probably old news.

I don't think this picture (in my opinion mind you) is a real screenshot from any source console or PC. I think it's a faked mock up. I've studied all the other images so far (about 12 in all) and http://www.gamereactor.se/media/59/elderscrolls5_235967b.jpg is the most surreal and strange of them all. The lake is too painterly like hand-painted water or some shader effect that isn't working. The plants on the left-hand bottom of the screen seem clipped from a stock source and photoshopped into the scene. Everything looks odd, off-color, and the waterfall looks hand drawn one tiny line at a time, and isn't blurred like running water. The trees even look photoshopped in. Here's a big one: look at the rock in the middle over the lake, there's no shadow under it on the water, it seems to be floating out there in mid air. It's totally faked. Look at the textures on the bottom-left dirt patch, the green blotches are not real, they are a joke. This can't be from any real image. The other images like the Dungeon with the zombies is absolutely mind boggling, but this is no where close to that. In my opinion, again.

I'm sorry, but unless Todd Howard tells me himself that this image is really from the game, snapped during live play, I won't believe it. And I don't want him to waste his time doing that, hahaha.

Okay, I'm sorry, forgive my rudeness, but this is honestly the biggest load of specious garbage I've ever seen thrown into one post. Your accusations are baseless and utterly absurd.

I don't want to go off on some tangent about why my observations are far more legitimate than yours, but that's a real screenshot. Not to diss Bethesda here (they need to make the game for 6 y/o console hardware) but if that were a pre-rendered screenshot I would have been a lot more impressed by it.

They also want to sell their magazine to consumers, rather than give it to them for free.

The Gamereactor magazine is free, I'm pretty sure it's mostly because of the ads in the mag. The magazine doesn't cost anything, the production cost has to come from somewhere, which is the ads, so they have to ensure that people see the ads in the mag, so that the ad maker wanna pay to have ads in the magazine, so that the mag can stay free to the consumer.
