I have a feeling you made the same mistake I made when I first started modding.
When you are installing the mod and you are prompted to overwrite your meshes and texture folder, IT'S OKAY!!! let them be overwritten, because if you read carefully (well not entirely sure about this on Windows 7 or XP, but I am 80% sure it's the same) it will NOT say "overwrite?" it will ask if you want to merge the folders together.
Consider getting OBMM (Oblivion Mod Manager) or Wrye Bash (BAIN) to help install mods; it's done better and more efficiently with excellent convenience! I know that 99% of everyone prefers BAIN, but in my opinion; I like OBMM better, to me it's easier to do. Just make a choice, don't do both, it can only be one. And really, you should only install one way that means decide between BAIN, OBMM, or manual (which manual is not recomended at all) because Oblivion can act really weird sometimes, and for some reason it seems to have an allergic reaction to hand-placed mods, so it is better if you get the software to do it and only stick with that one software to install.
