Bethesda Custom Ident

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 1:33 pm

Hey guys.

At college we had to make our own Ident related to a company of our choice. With Bethesda releasing Skyrim soon, all I could think about was that so I though I will make one for bethesda.

Now when you watch the video you may think it is fast. I agree but it was my first time with camera movements in Maya so I had problems. I don't have time to change it and normally an Ident is not that long anyway.

This is the link to the video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=udosRM44meghttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=udosRM44meg I hope you all enjoy it.

Feedback will be great. Note I am not a maya god, I don't know much about Maya yet but I really want to go into making games so I am learning a lot through a website called Digital Tutors.

Thanks from Kyle

The Bethesda logo you've used is a 2d image. Because its 2d, you may want to take advantage of that and work in a less complex program like Adobe After Effects.

They make a lot of low budget TV bumpers and intros with it. The more complicated stuff uses Maya, as you've shown us...however there are some heavy flickering going on, and the dungeon scene looks a lot like something you'd see in the opening of Daggerfall.

Its clear that you know how to work the angles, and camera. Perhaps get back to the idea board and stylize the scene a bit more...resolve that flicker/frame issue as well.
