Why do so many people want a Solstheim expansion?

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 12:07 am

Because Skyrim and Solstheim are both on the same planet and both located in the far north it is normal to assume that there will be ice and snow and mountains and pinespruce/evergreen forests and glaciers. Just as Finland, Iceland, Alaska and Siberia all have similar environments yet are very different at the same time. All listed however are very different in some ways.

As for culture, I wouldn't want it the same except that people of far north places often do have some similarities just because they deal with very similar conditions.
4. Yes, places in the far north all have animals that survive very cold climates well. Like reindeer, moose, bears....so on and so forth. It would be quite funny to see lizards in those places.
5. Who knows.
6. Yes, most places have immigrants.

I can't imagine what could be more exciting than Skyrim. I want to live there. And I imagine I will all next winter after it's release. If I get sick of Skyrim, I'll walk outside and play in the ice and snow. ;)

I always wonder about this, your from Alaska but still seem excited for Skyrim's environment. Were I live there are no mountains, and the forest are not coniferous. I have always like environments like Solstheim the best, pine trees, snow, etc good stuff. But if I live in the Tagia would I be so interested? I did like OB landscapes(though I thought there could have been more variety) even if I can go see deer running around in similar forests not far from my house. And winters can be reasonable harsh here with a lot of snow(this year quite a bit), yet I still am excited for the dynamic snow in Skyrim.

Hmmm, maybe I have answerd my own question...

Anyway, I really hope the expansion takes place in the Wrothgarian and Dragontail mountains (i,e parts of High Rock and Hammerfell) I don't see the Orcs getting their own full game so why not as an expansion? To Orsinium my Orcish brothers!

That's something I would love to see... and if I play a Conan-esque Nord I would be able to do http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6PQ6335puOc&feature=related!

Because Bloodmoon was the best part of Morrowind, and people want TES V: Bloodmoon II.

I can understand people want new places etc,it makes sense.
But imagine they made morrowind again with the expansions with the graphics, animations, and AI of skyrim.
I recon it would sell by the bucket loads.
As long as it wouldn't stop them doing other area's,i would 100% buy something like that :)
But i see the need for new places, because most of us have been there done that ,with morrowind and solsthiem etc.
But still......it would be great with the new tech now :)

i understand your point of view but IMO it's a 10000X more interesting playing a whole new game...besides you can always play MW :)

For me, it's because it'd be an expansion and because I liked it as much as the vanilla game. It'd be interesting to see what happened there between the Dunmer and the Skaal. Although I'd not be heartbroken if it didn't ever happen.

People hate change and want to buy the same thing again and again, first rule of marketing. See: COD, HALO etc
