Excited and worried about Skyrim's new game engine.

With the announcement at the VGAs about Skyrim and it having an "entirely new game engine", it worries me that it might stray too far from Oblivions. We all know Oblivion's engine was not perfect but it fit the game and made it into my favorite game of all time. I just hope that this new engine will not totally revamp everything that I loved about Oblivion's engine. (Hopefully not going in the same type of direction that Dragon Age 2 did compared to Dragon Age: Origins)

I wouldn't be too worried about the new engine my biggest concern is will Bethesda Game Studios be familar enough with this new engine that they won't have a gamebreaking glitch in the middle of the main quest.

Well, its not going to be completely different. I imagine the general feel will be mostly the same. Just that ol Gamebyro is getting on in years and was never perfect.

Obviously it's gonna be different, but they'll stick to the same elder scrolls formula. So it should be comfortably familiar. Like the difference between Morrowind and Oblivion, (the whole addition of a physics system, NPCs with 24hr schedules, spoken dialogue, etc.)
