Ancient society

I can't remember the name of a society that I was very interested in at one point but they're vaguely linked to summerset isles and the land they're based on is invisible I think? also I think Mankar Camoran hailed from that society.

You might be thinking of the http://www.imperial-library.info/gttpo/. They were originally from Summerset and they live on the Isle of Arteaum, which while not invisible they can move around at will or make it 'insubstantial'. Camoran's not from there, but Mannimarco was...

It could also be Pyandonea, and the Maormer. Their land is hidden by mist, and some people have said they're exiles from Summerset. But Mankar Camoran likely has Ayleid ancestry...his surname is that of the earliest Ayleid-Bosmer dynasties that founded a kingdom in Valenwood.

I think it's the Ayleids you're thinking of, and are getting the Aldmer and the Altmer confused in the process.

What do we know about the Camoran Usurper? He was Mankar's father, from what I understand.

This is a good story about that: http://www.imperial-library.info/obbooks/refugees.shtml

I think Ted Peterson was the author.

Another story: http://www.imperial-library.info/dfbooks/b041_usurper.shtml

Also from the Imperial Library:

"3E 249: The Camoran Usurper leads an army of daedra and undead on a rampage through Valenwood, conquering kingdom after kingdom."
Source: A Brief History of the Empire, The Fall of the Usurper."

"Haymon, the Camoran Usurper, conquers eastern Valenwood. Haymon's claim to the Camoran throne and his very origins are still debated by historical scholars. The most persistent legend is that he was the progeny of a Breton woman and the daedra Molag Bal. Certainly his army was largely supernatural, but so was that of his archfoe, the Baron of Dwynnen."
