Skyrim should add;

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 2:59 am

Gauntlets should affect hand to hand damage.
Perhaps a small blade attatchment on gauntlets, thus allowing H2H to have enchated weapons.
Bows should definitely do more damage; i believe i read something like this already however.

Places that have been 'found' already should be customizably labled on the world map. For instance, instead of just having the name of the place, players should be able to select what they want the dungeon to be classified as from a list of choices. Say you found a mythic enemy lair. Label it 'Mythic' and 'good loot', or what have you. Players should then be able to see their labels by hovering over the icon on thier world map.

On the subject of dungeons, rather than have 200+ (!) generic dungeons, there should be a few really unique and characterized dungeons. 75-100 perhaps.

Gold should be less readily available. By level 30, I had 100,000+ gold at all times, which decreases incentive to go dungeon delving, which is a huge part of the game.

Also, the enchanting and spellmaking altars are rather limited. Heres what I mean;
Enchanting altars only allow the max charge in your newly enchanted weapon to be 1600 (Grand Soul Gem). The max charge for self-enchanted weapons, if you will, should be increased, perhaps to 5000, by adding more soul gems.
Spellmaking altars are also limited in that homeade spells cost a significant amount more magika than spells that are bought. The magika ratio should be even, with the homeade spells costing the same amount of magika as thier bought counterparts.

I hadnt actually thought of "Fewer but more unique" dungeons before. I mean really, Ive NEVER explored EVERY dungeon in either Morrowind or Oblivion and I clocked over 200 on both in single playthroughs(and I rarely use quest mods). A lot of them are related to quests yeh, but those are always fetch quests(which I wouldnt mind seeing less of either).

[snip]

Some of the things your asking for are confirmed in already. You have some catching up to do.

spears should be added.

You would count a halberd as a spear, right?

Didn't play any of Bethesda's Fallout games, so maybe this is already fixed:

Enable a control+click for mass inventory clearing out. The repeated click on a line item, then click how many, is very tedious. There needs to be a short cut.

Man, maybe I'm getting too complacent with my demands, but I don't really need any of that stuff you mentioned other than the labels on the map. And even there I'd be perfectly happy with just a Done or Looted toggle instead of a fully customizable label (and I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'd feel bad for anyone on a console game system trying to type stuff in)

I don't realliy dislike any of the OP's options, but I did really like the idea of being able to somehow identify a particular spot on an in-game map.

Not really fixed no. But this is a good idea. Would make buying a bunch of alchemy ingredients or stuff like that much less tedious. I would also like it to be like Fallout's barter system where you can choose all the things you want to buy or sell and not actually finalize the sale until the end. That is a lot more manageable.

Two of the suggestions are unneeded, they already said that bows will do more damage (archery will be based on a popular Oblivion archery mod), and the there will be less dungeons but all will be unique.

I hope Enchanting is available anywhere to do on your own. And spellmaking is out.

Enchantments need to cost a lot more gold, like the enchantments in Morrowind. Powerful Morrowind enchantments cost a fortune if you didn't make them yourself.

Soul gems should also behave like in Morrowind, and constant effect enchants should need a soul of very high quality.

Money should be way harder to come by. Either that, or the more expensive things like houses should be WAY more expensive.

Yes and I agree with everything except fewer but more unique dungeons, I agree with the more unique but not the fewer one.

I want to enchant my spellmaking altar on the enchanting altar.

So, the bartering system from Morrowind?
Yes, please. I loved that system so much....
I miss it. Besides, if Skyrim is supposed to feel more like the Dark Ages, then bartering should definitely make a comeback.
Not everyone has gold to trade with-- they have random items, like weapons and booze.

I think having gauntlets that affect hand to hand is a good idea. Makes sense that a massive, heavy, jagged, armour-clad fist would make more of a mess of someones face than bare knuckles.
