Indeed, if you don't read the basics (including readme files for each mod) you're in for a world of pain. But hey, be it on your own head.

You might want to tone down the double posting too. It's frowned upon here. If you've got something to add to what you just posted, there is an edit button.

As for your problems, I'm not going to start helping you until you start to help yourself.

funfight. Cool down and try to explain calmly and clearly without all the bumps and smilies. Give the others chance to reply.

That answer is about as much use to you as your questions are to us. Please follow Rohugh's advice and explain your problems a bit more.

ok lets try this i will explain this in steps

with internet explorer some mods came as php

i have found that it was internet explorer and it works in windows

i have then got a 7z file which i extracted with 7 zip

i looked and it is an esp file now

i opened it and it is a text file that looks and has the same symbols that php has

now the only thing i need is is it right and if it is do i put the esp into data folder

Yes, you put the ESP in the data folder.

That is the single most basic element of using a mod. The second is that you turn the file on using the OblivionLauncher.exe

However, you are going to run into problems if you don't read the guides you've been pointed to.

im on windows now and it is a 7z file and when i extract it it is esp but it is openend with notepad so do i still just put it in the data folder

Yes, you put a .esp file in the Data folder, then make sure it's checked in the Data Files display (or in OBMM, if you use that).

If there were other folders, such as Meshes or Textures, along with the .esp, copy those to the Data folder too. You'll get warnings about overwriting folders that already exist. Those are OK; click "Yes to all" or whatever comes up to OK them.
