The reduction of skills

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 5:31 am

After splitting EVERY action into its own skill just finding what your current skill ranks are would become a tedious task. I think I would rather take streamlining and play the game.

EDIT: I do believe the whole idea behind the streamlining is for people to actually play the game instead of spending hours looking at menus.

Personaly I think this was all driven by warriors.. They came up with exactly how they wanted the warrior to work out gameplay and thus skill wise and that came down to 6 skills.

Once they had that they just had to compact the other skill sets down to 6 too.

But what the heck are the last few warrior skills we dont know? I think its safe to say there are 2 warrior weapon skills as having 2 such skills worked great in fallout gioving alot of weapons for each skill... with perks making for paths to follow along the way.

But what else other then 1 handed two handed smithing and maybe block would they do?

Every skill idea I have for those last two has a serious problem... Im fairly stumped.

@ Gurkog

you need more skills to be honest they are still too few.

what about farting and going into the bath (which should need at least 10 sub skill for it alone)

yes I'm being sarcastic with you :P hehe

I think that the perksystem will make it seem like there are even more skills than before (PC can specialize for example axes or daggers etc.).

You can t be serious right ?
You scrap of dagger skill to put a perk ? And you say its better ?

Skills are being scrapped because developper are getting lazyer. It pays more to work on eyecandy than a well thought and interesting gameplay. Market has been sliding down this path for the last decade.
Beth is just doing what the other do, at the end of the day its just another company.
TES future is farcry 2 + Dark Messiah + Diablo2. Jrpg anyone ?
Its already becoming less and less RPGish and more and more FPSish since Daggerfall.

And due to the statements in this thread , guess who s fault is ?
