Clarification for Installing FCOM and It's Parts

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 12:17 am

hey folks,

i'm going through the arduous task of turning my vanilla oblivion into a FCOM oblivion ... and then after that, mod it out some more ;) i have a pretty decent grasp on what i'm doing, but i do like to make sure about what i am doing. as such, i do have some questions about certain parts of installing FCOM that don't seem to be covered in the FCOM install guide and in what reading i have done around the place. so lets get to it then shall we :)

right, so i'm at the start, i'm installing Fran's, first question: do i want to install LE (Living Economy)??

i haven't done it yet but i will be installing EE (Enhanced Economy). should i install that first before i even start installing FCOM and all its bits?? And then say no to any other LE references that might pop up??

basically, i want to avoid any unneccessary installations and so, hopefully avoid any CTD down the track. thats fair enough isn't it!? thats all anyone can ask for with a modded oblivion ;)

thanks,
Dodgy Bob

First time user FCOM install guide ^_^ helped me out a lot, you might have to do some serious digging through the interwebnetspace to find some of the stuff.

and yep, been there done that too! still, thanks for pointing them out :)

i guess though, seeing as my questions are FCOM related, should my questions be asked in the FCOM Release thread!?!? perhaps they should??

its just that my questiosn are going to be the little niggly questions, more speciifc to what i'm going to do ... hmmm ... i guess it would keep things more neat and tidy wouldn't it??

Thanks to Qbit in http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1097809-relz-fcom-convergence-and-ufcom-relz/page__view__findpost__p__16051499 post, I have my answer now :D

No to LE and yes to MOBS - woot!

Also, what I will do from now on is keep what further questions I may have regarding my FCOM install, tied to that thread.

So Mods, you can close this thread if you feel it is necessary!?

My apologies and thanks folks,
Dodgy Bob

Yea I know Bob....to really install everything correctly you need to check against a couple places actually...

To be honest TESIV:POSItive helped me the most (not saying the others weren't needed at somepoint) as I started using BAIN packages which I now love.

Happy hunting!

Yeah, seen all but 1 of those links... man, that TESIV:POSItive site is huge :o hmmm, hopefully I'll find what I'm looking for in there. There certainly appears to be a wealth of information there!!

I guess, with the plethora of MODs for Oblivion and the massive scope that is FCOM, it would be hard to come up with every single combination and document it for all to see/read. I suppose you just plod along and hopefully it will all work out in the end.

Thanks for that one link StealthRedneck :)
