How many hours of your life will you waste?

Post » Fri Feb 18, 2011 10:12 pm

Waste? None :)
Dedicate? Lots. I imagine over time i'll spend 200+, but it will be quite a while before i get there. I'll probably do with Skyrim like I did with Oblivion and Morrowind. Play through the main quest, and a bunch of side-quests I run across, and 1 or 2 guilds. Make a new char for another guild, do the storyline again, find more side-quests, complete another guild. Take a break for a few months. Pick it back up and repeat the process :)

This game will be my life when it comes out. If I could I would stop working for awhile just to play the game. I am sure I will easily sink hundreds of hours into this game.

Zero hours. Why?

Because playing Skyrim isn't wasted time. I will be living Skyrim and completely abandoning reality though.

I think "waste" is the wrong choice of words, I would only be sat in the pub otherwise talking [censored] with the lads.

Depends of the quality of the game. Hope it will be better than Oblivion. My newest Ob character was created in first days of May 2010 and since then i played for barely 40 hours.

At least 200+, most likely 400-500. I had 200+ on a single character in Oblivion, with no mods. My Morrowind time of all chars combined must be around 500-600.

I logged over 200 hours in both OB and MW so I expect to do the same for Skyrim. However, not a single minute of those 400+ hours were "wasted".

Here's the way I see it. In five years there's 105 120 hours. If you spend 2000 hours in that time frame then you've spent 1.9% of your time playing the game. You've spent the other 98.1% doing other things, 2000 plus hours isn't a big deal.

I personally have played about 500 hours 0.4% of my time. I don't understand why people seem to think that people play "WAAAAAY TO MUCH! IT'S SCARY!"

Okay so granted you spend half of those hours asleep, but still, if you only include your waking hours then 2000 hours is 3.8%, which still isn't that much.

Edit: 2000+ hours in 5 years is roughly 2 hours a day, it's actually a little less.

Wow that poll is out of touch with reality. 25, 50, 100...

Most Elder Scrolls fans will play Skyrim for hundreds and hundreds of hours.

I've played Morrowind for about 750 hours and Oblivion for around 2000 hours.

I plan to play Skyrim for at least 1500 hours. :celebration:

Well that's a bad title. It's not wasted life if you enjoy it.

Also, I said forget about reality. The great thing is Stacey will be playing Skyrim right beside me so I can always be with my gf.

Omg you're so lucky. I can barely play Halo without catching [censored] from my girlfriend. But then again that is Halo, and she's not a fan of the FPS genre.. Like she will play GTA with me, but not Halo. I dunno..

I hope I can get her into TES, because I plan on playing that game for 200+ hours wether she likes it or not.

Not even considering mods, there is a lot of replayability built into Skyrim. But I expect my first character to keep me occupied for quite some time. Like most of you, it think, anyway, I am waiting for 11-11-11 so I can immerse myself into the fantasy world of Skyrim.

Now, show me that Character Creation process...
