When I got that problem I had to reinstall and if you have the GOTY version of oblivion it is already patched.

Oddly, the thing *I* would be most worried about, straight up, is the hardware you're using. That, or whatever is wrong with the OS. Because, yeah, it looks to me as though everything is "running" at a crawl... to put it nicely.

Are you sure your PC can handle Oblivion, to begin with?

Ok, that's really odd. Your ground texture is the Cyrodiil map.

Yeah, I think that could be the problem. Did you get Oblivion during the Steam sale, perhaps? Because that version is the GOTY Deluxe edition, which is already patched to the latest version and includes all the official DLC. You do not need to install any official patches for this version, or any GOTY version, in fact.

That might just be the video.

Haven't checked the video but it might be caused by patching over an install with altered shaders, i.e. if you have a mod affecting shaders installed and install the patch over it you get weird graphical issues as the patch also updates the shaders. Either reinstall from scratch or download the vanilla shaders before patching.

:banghead:

What do you mean you can't see your mods? They were deleted from the Oblivion Data folder (or did you delete it when uninstalling?)? Using OBMM?

No. I put (X) for my mods and go into my game and change the location to where my was to be but it is not.

and then found out that patch (/ ing) my full patch oblivion, so I can see my mod but then purple landscape everywhere and maybe some errors I have not seen for now

Hmm, I can't remember how to solve the purple landscape. Have you tried using OBMM redirection for the BSA files? I think maybe Wrye Bash has this too, I just never used it there. Also remember to redate the BSA (it's in the same place - utilites in OBMM).

Myself, I am off bug hunting myself. Really the only way to start sorting things is to deactivate mods and test (rebuild patch if you use Wrye) Check ingame. Add a mod, rebuild, check ingame. Rinse and repeat. I hate it, but when Oblivion starts acting up one has to do it.

Actually I just watched your video. Where you able to install the latest patch after reinstalling?
When I watched the video I recognized the problem - you got the map on the ground, read about that before - so there should be a thread hopefully.

About Oblivion Mod Manager OBMM
So you install that http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=2097 Seems like timslips homepage is down.
When opening it you click the Utilities button in the right panel.
Choose Archive invalidation.
It should already be set at BSA redirection so you should not have to change that.
Click "Reset timestamps" button.
Click the "Update now" button at the button
Finished.

I am not sure this will fix the problem but it should be done anyway so :D

Possible simple solution (please forgive if you did this already... just trying to eliminate a simple possibility) : Have you made sure in your video options that you set the texture size to large?

Otherwise, reinstall if you haven't already, then follow Locksley's advice. That should take care of it.

EDIT: spelling

Well, a quick Google search turned up this: http://thenexusforums.com/index.php?showtopic=118578&st=0&p=990559&#entry990559

The suggestions there seem to have worked for a few people. Also, you need to do a clean install of Oblivion if you haven't already: http://sites.google.com/site/oblivionpoinfo/install.

I would actually had to stand in post # 7

Sorry for double post, but I would certainly not created a new thread just to ask about what to do to run the match without purple landscape and other errors I probably have, but just not discovered in now. so what should I do after this was reinstalled Oblivion and after having discovered that I still can not see my mods.

so more elller less: So what if I reinstalled Oblivion GOTY version?.

what should I do to run the match?.

I'm sorry, but I am having a hard time following this. It sounds like you're talking about two problems now. I was speaking about the purple landscape problem only. Not being able to see your mods sounds like a completely separate issue, but again, I may be misunderstanding something.

Let me guess, you're using either Vista or Windows 7 and you've installed the game in the default location that's provided. That would be the reason. Install the game in a location outside of C:/Program Files, like C:/Games/Oblivion, or you're going to run into these sorts of problems adding mods to any game. You're not actually copying any mods to the game's folder because of the security measures in place on the Program Files folder. It's being sent to a virtual folder with the result that the game doesn't know where to find it. BTW, you shouldn't be using the game's mod selector, it doesn't work nearly as well as something like OBMM (Oblivion Mod Manager). Eventually you're going to run into problems using it because of mod conflicts, which OBMM can help you avoid.

yes your assumption is not wrong

a1 problem is when running Oblivion without purple landscape then run it without the ability to run the mod
a2 succeed me to respond to run but then I got purple landscape
a3 the two things I want help with is b1 (which is the one I poured want resolved) to correspond to run without the need to run with purple landscape b2 (which I suppose may have to pour but will not ) to remove the purple landscape and to be able to play with the mod and without purple landscape.

Belanos: no I'm using windows xp and it is a new computer. but thanks

I'm sorry, but I haven't clue what you're trying to say here. Obviously English isn't your first language so maybe you should stick to dealing with one problem at a time. It gets confusing when you try to discuss several things at once. As for your purple textures, I believe you can download the default shaders from TESNexus. Just get them and overwrite the ones that have become screwed up somehow. That's what's causing the issue. Get those fixed, then you can deal with your other problem, possibly in another thread.
