Would you play an ES game made in a different genre?

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 4:54 am

Aye, I didn't vote at all.

Reason 2: Second part of the poll demanded I vote for some "other game" type, when the only option I'd touch with a thirty-nine-and-a-half-foot pole is "None of the above, leave it alone."

Reason 1: First part of poll, there was only a "NO" option, and no "Not just no, but [censored] no!" option.

Aww, its so cute when gamers get their panties into a twist. Cranky from your overloaded thanksgiving meal?

On a serious note, its just a poll and discussion. Too many people complain about things that dont actually matter. If you dont like the thread, just dont participate. EVERYONE hates a Troll.

Hmm... possible factions for a RTS

The Imperial North (nords, Red Guards and Orcs)

The Imperial South (high elves, wood elves, Khajiit, Argonians)

Necromancer Faction

Daedra.

Morrowind (these guys are to awesome to just be apart of a faction)

Then for bonus factions you could have Dwemer Remants and The Dark Broherhood or something, for special modes like search and destroy or Defend the Vault from the no good greedy adventurers.

By the way, you should add a" None" option for the second part of the poll.

Most of those would be awesome, as side games if anything.
They have a great system for the main series games, that don't need changing, just improving.

A well made Total War- style RTS game on Tamriel would be awesome. If it was made well, of course. It's a fantasy world so chances are it would be weird and arcade-y. I would want it to be like a real historical game, just set on tamriel instead of the real world.
An action-adventure game could also be good. I don't see how you could get much out of the rest.

I'd like an Assassin's Creed like game that lets you at least choose your race, or maybe an RTS about Tiber Septim's conquests. Maybe a a god of war style game that lets you play as the Nerevar or some other legendary figure in the Elder Scrolls universe.

I'm a pretty hardcoe fan, so I'd try nearly anything they put out. Probably not a fighting game, or 2/2.5D scroller though. I think an RTS or TBS might be interesting actually =]

the alessian rebellion as gears of war with swords, with all the over-the-top blood and gore and action that entails. you'd play as pelinal.

i'm actually kind of hoping that Arkane is working with Bethesda on a new TESA. i'd very much enjoy the delightful blend of Dark Messiah, Arx Fatalis, and Redguard that would no doubt emerge.

A TES real-time strategy or adventure game would be pretty cool.

I like TES the way Oblivion was presented. I always play in 3rd mod, but I hate the off-center view like default Fallout3 style. I don't think I'll actually be interested if TES branches out to other genre.

It was already made, it's called Redguard!

Nevertheless, I'd play a stealth game set in ES for sure. I think the world has huge potential for a RTS. Story based old fashion, point and click would be delightful (wishful thinking).

Edit: Squad based RPG.

I would make only one exception:

Total War + TES if well implemented would be a lot of fun.

Tamriel: Total War

A pure adventure game would be nice.

Or... some action/adventure/strategy kind of game with pirates.
Buy a boat, smuggle some skooma, recruit a crew, attack east empire trade company ship and steal their boat...

Would be pretty cool. :)

All sillyness aside, I actually think a fighter game could be very good in such a genre. I am personly pretty sick of all the japanese fighter games which are all the same, a change of pace is really welcome in that genre.

It should be different than the standard fighting game though of course, I dont know if any of you played the deadliest warrior game? A good version of that would be perfect for the elder scrolls.

It has dismemberment, realistic armor and weapon effects, blood, finishing moves, and battles can end in a single stroke if you throw a spear in someone's face or cut their head off. This game is rather crude and unpolished however, but a better system of that could be rather perfect.

Custom characters could be a very important feature here, allowing you to choose a short range melee weapon, long range melee weapon, ranged weapon, special attack, combine an armor/clothing set from all available pieces, choose a race and gender and also give a name.

The only other genre I would play is a RTS, something akin to Tamriel: Total War with the added system of being able to some degree customize your units would be a great buy.
