360 games 720p vs 1080p

Post » Mon Jun 07, 2010 9:22 am

As far as 360 games go like Blops and say like Dragon Age they both say they support up to 1080p. Is there a noticable difference between tv's that have 720p and ones that support 1080p ? Also consider that both of them are LCD and only the 1080p is a LED. Would I see things graphically on the 1080p that I may have not seen on the 720p possibly? Things like dust wind, smoke, steam, or even shadows.

Thanks

No, the 360 is not capable of rendering at 1080p. I know codblops specifically renders at less than 720p, even, though I'm unsure about dragon age. You're not going to see any more detail, because there's no more detail to see - what you *will* see is fancier upscaling.

No, not at all. The games are rendered in 720p no matter what. When the games on the 360 "runs" in 1080p, it's instead the 720p render that is "stretched out" to 1080p. Kinda like having a 720p image in Photoshop and then resize it into 1080p, so no added detail will be added cause it's a 720p image no matter what.

No, visual effects like that doesn't depend on the resolution at all.
