I would like to have the ability to choose each pauldron, i just hope that if there are capes they can not be enchanted, because i don't want to have to wear one just to get th benefits.

I read what you wrote. I'm saying it shouldn't be between Morrowind and Oblivion, it shouldn't be the same as Morrowind, it should be more.

Morrowind already had too much, why would you want more? When is there enough? When you can choose each thread of a robe individually?

My point is, it's absurd to compare armor options with substance overdose.

It's not substance abuse. It applies to everything. There is always the point of too much no matter what it is.

Useless if you are asking "What active purpose does it serve?" Not useless if you are creating a simulative, realistic experience. The ability to wear clothing and armor in realistic ways is part of this.

Cool, so we need to spend needless development time taking away from gameplay features of the game to add back in the extra slots from Morrowind where you can put clothes under your armor which you will never see. Sound reasoning....

In what way was Morrowind too much? You're stating this as if it were fact.

I made no mention of substance abuse. And you are still missing the point, which is your hypebole was silly and disengenuous.

This is the reality of the situation: Morrowind didn't come close to allowing you to wear the amount of clothing/armor/accessories that would be possible in real life. Therefore, there is absolutely room for additional item slots. I could grant you we've reached this point of "too much" if the game allowed you to wear a seven shirts and nine trousers and twenty rings. But that is not at all what we are talking about here.

Um, how does this affect development time at all? The game simply does not force you to remove clothing when you put on armor. They already have systems in place that allow you to put on clothes, and systems that allow you to put on armor. They just don't conflict anymore.

Well Morrowind had too many. Oblivion had enough but it could be improved on so in between the two is where the perfection zone is.

I know man, did you know you can even wear a skirt under your robe in that game. When I found that out I burst into laughter.

I hope for more slots than oblivion to make customisation of outfits for roles greater.
Or at least have the base meshes of the armours not mirrored single pieces, so even a less able modder can mix and match a outfit from vanilla stock easier.
